Hi there. Just retired with lots of tools and energy. I fancy building a transit mini artic and trailer as a camper unit to travel around the UK and Europe. I like the look of your project tranny converted from a Tipper. What do your reckon the conversion will cost together with the purchase price of the Tipper. What BHP engine does it have and what gross train weight will it pull/would it pull

Will you be at Transitmania in September. I live 35 minutes from there and would love to see what you're doing.

the total build cost including trailer was around £10,000. it has a rear bench seat that folds out into a bed 4ft wide so sleeps 2 people and has a night heater, i use it for going to shows in and weekends away.

Just a quickie post.

For all you people reading this, I can't remember the sites I read this on, pretty sure one was the DVLA.

If the UNLADEN weight of the "tractor and trailer" is under 3.05 tonnes then you can drive this combination on an ordinary class B driving licence ie no trailer test required

Will try and find it and post the links.
