went for a longish trip today in it to walberswick(its on the east coast in East Anglia!!)van drove very well with a very quiet rear axle.My little girl has named the van as the whistle van

as the turbo whistles quite a bit as there is no soundproofing as yet on the bulkhead.
I havent been flat out yet in it :wink:

but off the clock so far.it ends at 80mph!!!!

yeah sort of.its a proper turbo block with the electrics removed and a bosch pump in place of the epic pump.this engine was meant for the luton.
but i thought what the heck,swb transit with a nice powerful diesal,

added the bullbar from the luton van last night as i have now got a black one for the luton...and what a diffrence a good clean did to the van it now shines..and i also got a bonnet that was better than the old one..as the old one had a few holes in the leading edge..

and my lorry keeping the van company

not a bad afternoon after being on the rolling road..I had to play around with the pump settings on the cam wheel a bit to get the most power...I got 122hp

in the end cant remember the revs or the torque figure but all i went for originally was to get my cossie set up as its been poorly

and i thought at the weekend why not see what the van will do with a little play of the pump..the speedo is a little out its reading 70mph when i am doing 85mph :shock:

flat out speed on the rolling road was 92mph

only problem i have which is minor is quite a lot of black smoke when the throttle is at quarter to full throttle..

what it really need or so i am told is a larger intercooler as its only a fiesta rs turbo and it really need a larger one,that will flow better as the fiesta one is restricting the air flow when the engine is near to flat out :shock:

I hope to be able to put a fan of some sort behind the intercooler so that it dont heat up so much when going slow or stand still.

Never seen a fiesta intercooler

A MK5 Transit intercooler stands the hieght of the radiator and fills the gap between the radiator and headlamp panel

How does that measure up to the Fez unit :?:
