Well, no it doesn't.
I had some SERIOUS doubts about the van and I have been so close to giving up when the head gasket showed signs og leak/failure. But I figured, that unless I buy a new van, I'll get another used one and I'll maybe have to change the brakes, clutch, egr and so on and so on...

But work has left me with no time for anything, which is good, but I would like to have it fixed..

I still have the same problems, as I have yet to find a decent mechanic that can go ahead with the wiring...

I had the white smoke, and that is probably the head gasket but I put in a bottle of sealant and actually it seems to have done the trick. A have been in Berlin (600 km x 2) with no problems. Does not use coolant... Very little if it does... But it's a short term solution I guess.

Regarding the wiring... Sigh.. Last time I thought that I found a garage that could help... But at the time the guy had actually time to listen to what I had to tell him, he said... "oh... Hmm... Well... I see... Oh... did you change the EGR?"
And yes I did change that.. ".... Hmm.. Well... Oh.. Oh! Did you change it to a original one?"
And no I did not... "that's why! I just had a van with all kinds of problems, and it was the EGR"..
Asked him if he would pay for the EGR if it didn't solve the problem or take it back .... He would not.. And he suddenly didn't have time for the wiring.. And then I had to go on holiday..

I have a friend who has a good old friend, who used to be a mechanic. He says that he still know a garage that he used when problems with something CANBUS and stuff. The do only electric stuff.. I have to call them when I get home from Prague on friday.

If I pull off the MAF it drives... And that's the way it is atm.

Well boys...it´s been a while... but these 2 months of the year is my 6 months income, so I´m flat out

but but but... 12 days ago I got all my lights in the dash testet :/
Every single one turned on and the van was not moving... Long story short, I got it towed to my mechanic and had to rent a Transporter as I had a 5 day job in Germany the day after...
He looked and looked and could not find anything.. lights was out again but all of a sudden it was back.. All the wires came out ok, but some of them was not looking so well.. so a few of the got changed... after that they could all turn on a 12v bulp...

As I had a leak of some kind and nothing to see, he took of the manifold and one of the rubber gaskets had failed. Having the manifold off, he put on a original EGR (I found it locally for 50 pounds) and it changed nothing...

So we agreed to take it to the dealer, as there is a Transit center nearby. A very nice and friendly place and they tested it for 2 hours... everything...everything came out ok. Wires are good... but it drives like sh*t...

So I´m back to where it all started... but I maybe found the problem... I have been driving with the MAF sensor not plugged in, and then it drives sort of ok. But afraid of total blackout again I have put it back on. And then it drives like sh*t... but if I take of rod from the actuator and keep the MAF plugged in... it actually drives ok.. still it does this overboost thing or what to call it (sounds like I´m in Fast & The Furious) but it drives...put the rod back on... all crap and engine lamps on..

Ford then tells me, that it actually maybe the actuator, even if it does not show any kind of errors what so ever. They say that the ebay-ones sometimes is not working properly... Oh my... if that´s the case, man I really have looked at the problem 10000 times and searched for the fault elsewhere... I get the same faults with the new turbo and actuator as I did with the old one... and theres a note in the box saying the unit (turbo and actuator) is tested for 12 min. before leaving, with succes.. so naturally one would think that it´s working!

So now I´m talking to the guys who sold me the turbo and they want me to send it back first... but then I can´t drive so they agreed to send me a replacement actuator and then I send mine back...

Holy cr*p I hope that solves it!!

Well the guys from Premier Diesel, from where I bought the turbo and actuator, couldn't find anything wrong with the actuator
That probably means, that I won't find anything changed, when I go back to DK.
They did however, change the actuator to another one, hoping it could help.
For now, my hopes are not that high... But still hoping..

Next chapter in this "talking to myself-thread" is that a refurbished actuator has hit the hotel bed and is eagerly waiting to go in the suitcase on sunday...will also be fitted on Sunday, as the plane takes off at 8:45 til CPH.
First I'm of to Manchester for a short visit though.

Still waiting for the results of whether you got continuity between the turbo connector pins and pcm, then a replacement pcm tested.

Pcm has been replaced months ago. Nothing change there.
Ford dealer tested the whole wiring and they didn't find anything

Well, new actuator.... same old problem. Nothing changed

Status is that if I run the turbo test WITH the rod on, it stop instantly and says (translated) "mechanical failure in turbo charger. Mechanism is probably stuck"
If i take OFF the rod, is runs the test, revs up the engine and ends up saying "Mechanism is probably stuck"

If I drive with the rod on, I have no turbo but lots of blake smoke
If I drive with the rod off, I do have quite a lot of turbo and it drives ok actually... still pulls better than the rented Transporter I drive some weeks ago!

The van was tested at a Ford Transit Center some weeks ago, and the found no failures in the wiring and the PCM is replaced long ago with a unit from another van from a breaker.
It was Ford that said, that they go for the actuator... now that´s done and tried and the guys at Premier Diesel said that the old one was working fine. I have no reason to doubt that, since this one changes nothing and it´s a new refurbed one.

I have no other option than to go back and hear what they can think of... I any of you can think of anything... anything... please let me know

Why don't you buy a elm327 and download forscan to a laptop then you can get various live data to try and pinpoint the fault, I just found you can do a turbo test with it, just an idea. N

I concur it took me 7.5 hours to find a tiny break in my fuel pump wiring. N

I feel the same way, but it was the mechanic at Ford who ran a test in their garage/center who said it.

He clearly stated it was OK, but I too have a feeling that it is something "stupid little thing".

I driving 400 km. on wednesday and their garage is just on the way. I'll call them in the morning and hope to get to talk to him.

I have no skills in electrics, my mechanic neither and my friends who has, they don't really have the time to get in on this with me

So only thing I can do is do as Ford tells me to. They were kind enough to suggest the actuator, as they could not find anything else....and suggested that I changed it myself.
