after we were messing with it last week the boost would fall off as we accelerated - i was thinking about it afterwards and i wondered if the air filter was not allowing the flow to keep up with the demand of the engine  i rung stu and said try it without the air filter for a run see if its any better .......... anyway he did today and its loads better  back over boosting without it

we can't remember where we got the air filter from :? - probly one we found in a bin in our rush to get it ready for NW08

so new air filter to add to the list

injectors due back this week and the working amil valve is here :D

north weald 2012 here we come 8) 8) i have high hopes for this van

i'm hoping it'll be in the 15's  best it's done so far is 17.1 so it's a fair chunk to knock off but if it's not in the 16's at least i'll be dissapointed :|

one thing we've not managed to do is get the rev counter converted :| it would be handy to have one

Can you set it so the boost is a little lower in 1st to stop the wheel spin, age ole proplem of traction or have you sourced some phat rubber.

not sure but i think a mini one would be different - we tried a couple of aftermarket ones 1st time one but the cossy engine is different somehow :? bring it anyway and if it fits we'll borrow it  8)

it's got new rubber but we never really had a problem getting traction in this - problem last time was doing 4 gear changes before crossing the line - if he's changing into 4th with this axle he'll be crossing the line at 90mph

did i write that
slower than last year  what went wrong :?
we fitted the greens - 1st few runs we had problems with the limiter eventually got it running ok but i doesnt seem to have much improvement with the new ecu and injectors - the van gets off the line well enough - the axle still isnt tall enough to cross the line in 3rd - well it doesnt feel like it but without a rev counter we were just guessing  but even that wont get us the gains we should have made :?

we've got a 4.27 axle to fit see how that does but as a daily driver its still geared low with the 4.56

so the plans over the next few months are get all the gauges working, set it up as best we can (it may be a fuel pressure problem ?? as we still have the standard pump) then get it on a rolling road to be set up properly :D

it's an odd thing with these axles you think a better accelerating axle would be better but everyone seems to set off in 2nd better with them :? the main reason we want to swap the axle is for drive ability not really for racing but i think it might help :D plus we've got the axle now

Funny though, Tim couldn't manage starting in 2nd even with the same diff and similar diameter tyres
