so its more of a cover then for the chassis bit that goes to it from the main chassis to just keep that back quotor stright?
is it the middle of that new section i made thats for load bearing with the spring hanger as its between the crossmember and that chassis section that goes a cross

Yea, thats right rob. it just holds the main chassis bit up.

..
The spring hanger section that you made is load bearing, but you've made a good job of that as 2mm is v good.

..
The other section that goes between the cross member and that chassis section is also load bearing because it is chassis.... And all chassis is load bearing on the van..

.....
So everything that you are thinking is right...

.....
Weather might not be so good tomorrow... never mind.......
catch u later ....
maybe just mig up that chassis section i made as its still in 3 bits
and get some cardboard to make a template for the inner quotor ready to get welding in
then i will chop after the spring hanger and the one in front going to the inner quotor of so i got more room to weld in that new inner quotor panel.
then the shackle bolts lose then jack the van up so the leaf spring is just siting there so i can take the shackle of and chop the old spring hanger of and the middle chassis bit and repair the crossmember with a new pice of 1mm steel from the corner where the crossmember ends to the main chassis rail.
then put a strip of 2mm on top where the spring hanger would be welded and same on that 1mm inner quotor then weld some 2mm on the main chassis rail ready to weld the chassis bit going a cross to the inner quotor then make the holes in the spring hanger rounder so the crush tube goes in better then seam weld around that in side out.
then weld it in place then push the rubbers in after some wd40 sprayed in for then to push back in better then get the shackle and bolt it back up then let the van back down and weld the floor back up.
and finsh the crossmember
thats my plan to so it
about 4 good days to do it on and of
then start the wheel arch and in front of that and the back outer quotor then weld on the new wings then its sort the body out for respray
