Rat$!!
After all that work, too. Still can't say i'm surprised, 1700cc? i struggle with my 2000 Pinto and as for the carb . . . . . what is it?
i replaced the VV on the Pinto with a Weber Twin Choke and it improved both economy AND power, Who'd have thought it?
Good Luck M8 with the V4, but i'd think more along the lines of 6 or 8 cylinders.
Custom gets my vote too. Make it YOUR own Tranny, not just a resurrected classic.
Just been looking at some of the old 70's & 80's flicks, seeing how fantastic some of the old school vans and rods were. 8)
But in the end it's your van, your decision.

Enuff blabbing now. Just enjoy your Mk1, that's what they are for, isn't it?

yes its the german 1.7 but im going to upgrade it to an essex 2litre v4 - unfortunatly a v4 is all that fits in the van as i dont want to change the front panle or cut into the bulkhead :)

Are you the man from yesterday who I lent my angle grinder to?

If so then did you get home in the end?
