Anyway, got a bit bored today... so made up some new dials bulbs. Not sure I like them, but they might grown on me

Looks the nuts, i had these done and all my switches in my old Mondy ST200

Ive just brought some 3mm leds and resistors to do all the buttons, I may get around to that soon, along with the indicators etc

I took my dash mould to the carbon fibre guy yesterday.... I think im gonna just finish it off and paint it! Its a tad out of my range

After a few good coats of filler primer and a lot of rubbing down, Ive now painted it with satin black... Not sure what I was expecting, but it just blends in!!! Maybe I should have thought about something a little different, metalic blue or something... Anyone got any carbon fibre paint



The surround is now fitted into the van, all looks a bit average to me. Just got to remodel the clock support brackets, to square them up and then Im going to fit some blue LEDs to the button back illuminations... Not sure what else I can do to customise it.
Oh! I only had one problem!
To get the clocks to sit deeper, I warmed up the windscreen demist tube behind the dash with a hot air gun to make a dent on the edge of it, which was going fine, untill my 3rd attempt. I put the handle of a screwdriver through the plastic, so Ive had to patch it.

i was just thinking the same thing i dont think you need to worry about the dial surround the silver dials make it look good, if you get a nice momo steering wheel or something on the lines of that all will look 100% jiggy

edit: or even better get some white dials.

Have seen some white & Stainless dials on ebay, but they are quite expensive and Ive already spent a fair bit just on the dash...

i'd go for one of these in a mk3



easy enough to get hold of but the bosses to fit capris and mk1 escorts (whats needed to fit a transit) are quite hard to get and when they turn up go for a fair bit

Theres just so many good ideas on here...
Ive got some mechanics to do now, drums (ebay for £15 inc postage and genuine ford), pads and shoes, Ive never done them before, also its developed a bearing noise over the last few weeks and I cant make out where its coming from, hoping its not the diff. So Im going to change both front bearing sets in the near future and hope thats it then maybe the rears, but I havent even looked in the book yets to see how easy they maybe!

not sure i had a 13" wheel on mine and really they needed shortning - i think mk3 escort ones do it (info off here) but the RS wheel i thinkis 14" mabe 15" so it might not need them

i dont think the link intransit has posted is the correct boss for the RS wheel - its a momo wheel one - theres quite a few bosses/wheel types and you need to be sure its the correct one or a bit of modding may be in order

also i'll just mention it for the benifit of anyone reading mk1 escort/capri bosses do need a slight modification to go on info is on here
