467 miles after a bit of driving around up there, still had 1/4 of a tank left... I wish that was the van  that was off-set today, with a quote for a new wing, fog lamp and scratched bumper from Nissan £1375.19p WTFeck.

Big thanks for the covers Matt, still not heard much about the covers, but its when they are ready to keep the price down.

I know how you feel about using more fuel on the way up to Sheffield, I wish I had used the car! It has 170hp, weighs as much as the Transit, and fully loaded coming home last night averaged 32.2mpg  now I just got to figure out how to mount a FWD 2.5l 20V volvo engine into the van

Funny you say that Sam....

I have just put my Gen. Ford Tinted Slider in to the SLD in between the rain and a few other tasks too! Got the same to go in the other side at some point too but need to do some repairs around the frame so that can wait for now

Sure i herd they were sticking the rs and st focus engines (2.5lturbo 5cylinder volvo lumps) into mk1 mk2 escorts ect using a bmw "gator-somthing" :? gearbox would be good in a transit 8)

most 2.9 transits topped 89mph only and were not that fast attal ,if you are useing a car engine then it might be difrent ,but the 2.9 was limited to 89mph

It definately does more than that... ;)

I can top 70 in 3rd 8)

Theoretical speed/rpm:

RPM 4th 5th
750 13.2 16.1
1000 17.6 21.5
1250 22 26.8
1500 26.4 32.2
1750 30.8 37.6
2000 35.2 42.9
2250 39.6 48.3
2500 44 53.7
2750 48.4 59
3000 52.8 64.4
3250 57.2 69.8
3500 61.6 75.2
3750 66 80.5
4000 70.4 85.9
4250 74.8 91.3
4500 79.2 96.6
4750 83.6 102
5000 88 107.4
5250 92.4 112.7
5500 96.8 118.1
5750 101.2 123.5
6000 105.6 128.8

It doesn't mean these speeds are obtainable to due wind resistance/friction etc but it gives an idea ;)
