Good work on those rocker covers mate, you have the best ones for the Transit, where the oil filler is at the front end of the cover, another thing to bear in mind when fitting the Essex into a Transit.

just been doing some research... camshaft pushes in from front. the bearings presumably or shells will have oil grooves?

also been prevented from fitting block to stand due to short bolts.... just seen an essex on a nigh on identical stand but bolted on from side using an engine mount !

result i can start work! need that oil pump and water pump some time soon!

Hows that timing gear, no damage of any kind, little chips in the nylon etc.

looks sweet as but dont trust it. steel quaife one double price of fibre replacement but worth the extra 70 quid i reckon. noisy tho!

should have seen the state(s) of the oil :shock:

got a spray enamel today and 5l degreaser, made a sort of parts washer out of some old grey plastic boxes and got a drill powered pump if needed too 8)
