Thats not cutting it fine...

The car i'm hoping to have hasn't got a bulkhead, any suspension, master cylinders, axle, engine or exhaust yet... And the steering racks not in, so no steering colum either... and no seats, fuel lines bonnet, wings... you get the idea!

on the way back from north weald the van used a lot of water :( we had a look and realised it was the turbo that was leaking and possably cracked. stu took it off and sent it to be reconned but it was too far gone and basically scrap so he got hold of a good used one - martin fitted it earlier this evening and it drives like a different van - much better in traffic and in stu's words without a doubt it would be quicker now than it was at north weald :!:

shame that ford fair no longer do the 0-60 sprint :)

well i havent posted much about this but even after the new turbo it wasnt as good as before :(

even missed transitmania 6 due to a fuel leak and a faulty starter solenoid but in general not very fast and running rough - tried lots of little things and eventually fitted a boost gauge (cheers minormatt) (i know it had one before but it was mine so i took it back and fitted it to mine and stu never got another) when i fitted it i didnt have a tee so i used the one off the dump valve - straight away it was loads better not missing or spluttering and it boosted to about 13psi - i then fitted it with the tee putting the dump valve back in and it would only boost at about 10psi

we removed the dump valve and blanked off both sides and its the best its been for years - dunno how long this fault has been on!

i think the problem will not have been the lack of boost more the air loss causing the mixture to run rich - hopefully it will sort the poor mpg out too :D

Stu has a big smile and is back feeling the love for the van 8)
