Did make myself chuckle today...when mvm changed the gearbox and clutch he pointed out that the mass of oil around the old ones was probably the rocker cover gasket getting old...mmm i thought...easy job...

Take off dizzy, move over

Undo nuts

Pull off big metal thing, replace and reverse

So...ordered new gasket, due to be collected at 1pm, battled for half an hour round the big metal thing, got all but one bolt out...realised it was behind the carbs...bottled out and took an hour to put them all back in and walk away...small steps, big learning :)

Mmm, top idea, i know you said that for the carbs, will add it to the list...not sure if the mirror would have helped, just need to work out a way that 'i' can take the carbs off and out them back on without breaking them!

Other good news is that nieces boyfriend came over yester and fitted a new cab carpet for me!!! Whoop whoop, big up to the luke chap!

Riight new switch for the handbasin is here, just one question while planming it,

The 12v switch has 3 terminal, one not marked and the other 2 marked + and live, now i think the red wire goes into the live and comes out through the +, the black wire to the appliance direct and the last terminal on the switch is earthed.

Is that right to make it all work? (maybe) :)

Yep. Test it first with a 9v battery so you know the live in and out are correct.
Light only on when switch on will work off battery to test

Right. Wiring for handwash in. Found a feed on the opp side of the step down box. Used the earth for the 240v and found out that im on the lighting circuit. Put the switch in and immediately blew a fuse...think im looking at one of three things...bad earth, wires wrong way round somewhere or demand is too high from the hand wash...and its snowing.

I did however, find a reasonable value 800w genny that should do the hook up job. Having had it returned to the supplier from e bay as it didnt work, it works now! Ran a battery charger ok but almost spat out the spark plug when i attached a jet washer to it! Next job is to see how it copes with lighting, a tv and a small heater...the genny was about 80 bucks delivered though :)

But the good news is that the fuse only blew when the switch was turned on, so happy days :)

Was connecting the hand wash earth to the 240 earth? Is that wrong??? Never dealt with 12v before. I do have an option to earth via a metal casing over the wheel arch if not...i think :)

Is the listing still active mate?

Perhaps a forum member local to the seller would be kind enough to 'collect it' for you
