Bodywork is embarrassing me now


So I decided to start attacking it with a wire wheel.
I took off the front wheel to do the arch, and got a bit carried away...like ya do


Then carried on down the side


So now it looks much worse than before
But it's progress

If anyone's interested;
I used black underseal inside the arch,
cream hammerite on the suspension parts,
and a zinc primer on the bodywork.

i think its cool like this sort of rat look, u just need some red oxide into the mix

I've been getting right into the rat-look recently so the van will have some touches,
but not too much.

I gave it a new front disc and track-rod-end last week,
then took it for it's MOT, which turned up a few issues;

A slit in a tyre sidewall - Now replaced both rear tyres with some I had waiting.
Rusty rear crossmember - Done.
Rust in front inner wing - Done.
Rusty offside sill - Do today.

...then back for retest tomorrow.

I will have covered all the points on the sheet and more so should be a formality,
unless they've got it in for me. They didn't seem particularly friendly

Anyone recommend a friendly tester around Cambs/Peterborough?

Well, the recession must have hit that garage,
cos they found some pinholes in yesterdays welding,
and said I need to pay 42 pounds for another MOT.
Yeah right, like they're getting any more of my money.

I would be having words with vosa about the mot guy, as that sounds like they are not happy they didnt get the work to fix it.

Pinholes in welding???? Sound like they are being a little arsey to me!! Vosa will prob back tester up and fail ya van on something else!!!! Slap some more underseal on it take it somewhere else!!!!! Don't give them ne more money!!!!!
