E bays reply...

Hello Jon,

Thank you for your email about an item that has been sold on eBay that you feel is stolen from you.

I understand your frustration at seeing an item you believe to be stolen for sale on the eBay website. However, we can only investigate such a serious allegation if it comes from the police, or trading standards.

I recommend you contact your local police and ask them to get in touch with us. The investigating officer can then use the contact details provided in our Safety Centre:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/safetycentre/la ... ement.html

We're eager to prevent the sale of stolen goods on the site. If we find a seller has been selling stolen items we'll take action on their account. This action includes (but isn't limited to) account suspension.

Again thank you for your email, we know your time is valuable and we appreciate you taking a moment to express your concern to us.

Hi mate, why don't you message the seller asking if you can view before bidding, then at least you get an address

Then contact the police and say that you have located your stolen property.

Jono.I have sent the guy a polite message to advise him that it would be a good idea to return the item to his mate so that he can get it back to you to avoid any further repercussions.I wonder...........................

Also strange that the item is now listed for a Mk2 but was originally for a Mk1.

Mealic, thats a thoughtful thing to do, thank you. I have his name now and his facebook account also. No doubt the connection will show itself sooner or later, esp as he is local. Robbiemate, sage advice. Also interesting its still mk1 in the description. I think i know my next move.

Right Jono,I have had a reply. It appears that this guy really doesn`t understand what might happen if he is found out over handling or selling stolen goods.
This is what he has said word for word.
"well m ymate has to deal with that but he brought it 4 spears 4 his transit has every think with it so it shouldn`t be stolen".

I tried!!??
