cheers for the replys all :) lee im hanging onto the wellers for now
been looking at my new wheels a lot lately, and im not liking the skinny tyred transit look
so the new plan is too fit the 9" wide revo's that I had mocked up under the mk2 on the rear :D
but it means ive got to narrow the rear axle :( 60mm each side
i'll let you know how it goes

only problem with that rob is the side door will need modding :(
have pulled the shafts out, and there not waisted past the splines, so hopefully should be able to re-spline them and chop them down

Where are you getting that done Browny?

I have a Celica axle under my (un-finished) minor at the moment, but its about 60mm too wide (on each side!) as well...

matt, was thinking I may be able to do the case, but the shafts will be done by a mate of a mate who works in a shed at the bottom of his garden
do you know the spline count of the Toyota shafts ? has it got an lsd in it ?

I don't off the top of my head...

Its one of the last live axle ones, (was coil with 5? link) but I think its an open diff (4.11 ratio)

Or it might have been a corolla one

matt, have you done anything with your Toyota axle yet ?

weve been busy today, the spannermonkey and I, weve swopped the atlas axle back, as the square tube axle off my mk2 got so noisey, so now we have the 3.44:1 rear end back which will hopefully restore some good gas milage aswell
Image
also while the axle was off we tried this in the hole, be rude not too
Image
its the 9" wide wheel that wont fit unless I get the axle narrowed
Image
really need to get them on as it looks the nutts under there
Image
as it sits at the mo with the 7" rims on :(
ive got another atlas on the way which will be going under the grinder, watch this space
