Cheers Guys..

Just been playing with the gas appliances and tidying things up this week.

Fitted the Smev grill in the table top then got it to work, it has one little burner and one big burner.

Image

Then fitted the Smev oven and got that to work. It has one long burner in the top as well as a little cooking light on the back.

Image

Then fitted the 3-way gas fridge and it didn't look like it was going to work. I had cleaned and tested the fridge gas mech before fitting it so i couldn't figure out what was going wrong. I couldn't see a gas flame through the spy glass so i had to take the fridge back out. When i did take the fridge out and test it everything was fine.... I then figured out the back of the spy glass was very dirty and i couldnt see through it... ... The pilot had been igniting and staying lit the whole time, just i couldn't see it.... ...

So i then refitted the fridge, got that to work and everything was fine... it gets cold enough to freeze ice cubes in 3 hours... and it take about a day for them to defrost if the fridge gets turned off.

Image

The Propex air heater has been fitted for a while but I've only now gassed it up and tested it. Works a treat.

Image

I fit all the gas appliances then check all the fittings with watered down washing up liquid looking for bubbles. Then i check everything again using a special LPG Leak analyser. Its very acurate and finds the slightest trace elements of gas. Its much more accurate than bubbles..... I'll do a drop test when everything is finished as i still have to gas up the Carver water heater.

Image

Tested the timer that i fitted onto the Propex unit and that works fine too. Comes on, switches everything on, then switches everything off, ect...

Image

The twin battery tester works good too. Shows the difference between the two batteries and if any of them are under charged.

Image

So its actually starting to get like a proper 'take anywhere' camper now.

Next thing to do will be to connect and test the Carver water heater.

Cheers everyone... :) ....

Cheers Kex,

yeah, i think i would of gone bankrupt ages ago.... ...

I think the stainless steel kitchen unit on its own would cost a fortune in labour.... ... and then there's the time consideration........I think its a 2 year build date.......    ........

I dont think that the SWIFT or HYMER Motorhome companies have got anything to worry about with me...

I beg to differ, all these companies should see your work and aspire to this level of engineering and your new definition of QUALITY.

Superb work as usual, remember and allow for a little bit of ventilation behind all switch gear cos it will get cosy in there

thanks guys... :D ...

Hey Ake, the ZIG instruction leaflet says to put a couple of air holes by the Zig unit but I'm gonna put some at the base of the Zig unit then at the top/side of the control panel to allow air from the base of the Zig unit to travel up past the back of the control panel and then exit at the top creating a good air flow passage from top to bottom.

I just don't know how warm the Zig unit is going to get, especially when the 240v hook up has been connected.

Might be a good place to dry the dishes... or perhaps i could hang a little clothes line in there..... ....

Cheers guys.... :D ..

I'd like to know that too, and the water level gauge and light switches!
