Your van weighs about 1600kg 1 tonne stands will hold it up and a 1500kg jack will lift it high :) Great looking steps too

Thanks for that info Muttley, I have worked out a way of repairing the chassis & inside arch, just need to get the n/s corner sorted 1st thing in the morning.

Just a few of the welds done over the weekend, it is so bloody hard to weld under a van, I did not know how flexible you had to be :o
Going to tackle the x-member & dreaded lower n/s corner in the morning.

Once I get the x-member & lower n/s inside corner welded in place I will then tidy up all the welds & underseal, the arch holding the seats will be painted as I have the original rubber cover to put back once finished.

Inside arch holding seats 7/8 in place

This corner one was not that bad

This one was a nightmare

Ron ,

In one of your posts you seemed to imply that you would underseal straight over your welds . I dont know what other forum members think , but I like to :

1 rustex/jenolite 2 seam seal 3 prime 4 topcoat 5 underseal .......stopping water is hard work :-)

cheers

After welding the plate in the 1st picture on the x-member I realised I did not turn the gas on  Would you say the welds are to MOT standards or not?

Tided all the welds & undersealed 80% of the floor today & made the template in cardboard for the o/s rear corner outside.

Gonna get the van off the ramps & up on axle stands Thursday so I can do the o/s chassis plates.
Then swap sides and do the rear wheel arch & n/s rear corner outside & a small plate near the sliding door.
Then I can do the n/s floor inside & underseal the last 20% underneath & put the interior back in.
Re-fit the rear bumper & work out how to re-fit the rear mudflaps.
