i used to not use earmuffs but find every now and then i get tinitus so i would certainly recommend the muffs
plus leather gauntlets ,less than a fiver any decent factors/welding shop
its too easy to get a big bolly on your arm and jump, i did it today welding a manky floor pan up and i had regulation matalan coat on made of high fire risk fibres

well i only got light slides done today as shown below



and welded 2 little bits of angle to take slack up in the box section and welded a plate on it with the ends bent over on a angle for support



so the back end is starting to take shape , and between the lights ill box it in and incorparate my towbar



but taking my 8x4 chequer plate to get guilotined in the morning to 7 ft and the off cuts will make a set of ramps

my mk5 playing up dragged a A4 estate on and thought winch was struggling thought it was just the weight of A4 but when i got back home it would just say turn over then click so maybe an alternater check tomorrow

i got new alternator for my mk5 £96 but i needed it
took boxes off and mudguards so i can get in to weld sheets
and pulled out side to sweep up and get some better shots







also got my chequer plate cut to size







so i had to try them in place







lookin good also bought some box section that will slide inside each other toying with a slide out tow bar

carnt even have a go in it


tomorrow try and get a start design towbar before sheets are weld
wakes it look totally different with just the sheets laid on

yes a child , but he is my child and im proud of him and will put him along side any man to work

thankyou for that i was beginning to think i was doing something wrong by giving my son a chance to do things he likes , and lead him down the right road its not as if he is ever unsupervised. but he is a sensible lad .

LET ME START BY THANKING YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT ABOUT MY BOY

Well on saturday we designed and made the towbar
its made so it slides under the body out of the way as shown below



as you can see i havent fitted the ball yet
it can be done later but, it just pulls out
place pin in and reverse when not in use
dont worry not using the ball on the floor
but ive a new one ordered same style



but took all day to do
sunday

well WE boxed the ends were ramps sit
and fitted a few sheets



placed hooks in place ready to weld



thats all for now but , try to get the head board fabricated this week awaiting remote winch , box the back in between the lights, fit plugs for jump leads
then maybe ready for my next thread painting

hi mate the hanger is 6mm steel and is welded in 3 places behind that one it wont go any where i went a bit over board behind that one i hope

his back to school tomorrow so he ll not be back till saturday
thats if were not caravaning should be ready for paint then i hope

ive welded a few more sheets on and a few hooks only 1 sheet left to weld on been really busy







try and get steel for head board and get it sorted would like to start paintwork at the weekend but dont think ill get started
