at my work place iam using a snapon 160 amp what big improvement 8)

but dont recon much to the auto darking masks :? bloody crap lol

Progress made 8) but no pics sorry :oops: i'll get some i promise :)

got the back disconnected and cut the chassis ready for a complete transplant of the rear chassis ive got :D

gonna make some inserts to keep the strength at the joints - ive cut the top and the bottom rails at 2 seperate points to make it stronger :D

todays progress got the 2 chassis offered up but were doing it outside and the rain was putting me off :oops: :lol:

there is some box sections to go inside the 2 chassis halfs to make the joint strong :D

ive just had to do this to a merc 7.5 at work, had to add 520mm in front of the axle and 650mm on the end, now jsut have to make two bodies demountable to fit it and I can crack on with the next job !.

dont know where you are luke but if ou ever need owt folded im in evesham, you want to pop over with metal I can guillotine and fold it etc.. (max 3mm on guillotine) but can fold up to 10mm

Progress today

finished the back all welded on - sorry no pics gone dark by the time we remembered but i'm up there tomorrow so i'll get a few 8)

hopefully tommorrow i'll get all the axle and tank back on and have it all up and running again :D

then were gonna paint it- be done for christmas :lol:

some progress today but i have pics :lol:

got the axle and tank all bolted up - cleared the grey van out of the garage and got the pickup in and stu's gonna spray it for me 8) so thats me done :lol: just got to fit the front axle with the 6 stud single hubs (if anyone wants a 6 stud twin mk3 disk brake axle then PM me this ones for sale) bit of wiring and should be MOT'd for christmas 2008 :mrgreen: :lol:

pics now :lol: here shows the join box section is in between and the holes were pre cut in the outer chassis then filled in - theres 12 holes all together, also the joints welded, i left a 1mm gap all the way round and the overlap is plug welded, it's the 1st chassis joining job ive done and i'm pritty chuffed with it :D

thats another single wheel chassis, thought you might have put a twin wheel chassis on :)

we did think about it - even extending it with this as we were origanally going to build a car transporter but now if i'm gonna keep it once its done space is a problem so it's better off as a swb :D and if i do have to sell it it's more origanal :D

i would consider putting a tipper back on tho :idea:
