this was already done when i got the van, same for the diff.
i think from Memory of when Dad did his Mk1 it needed a custom braket to mount the caliper. it runs Falcon discs with PBR HQ kingswood caliper. and i assume by the looks the brake hoses are also kingswood.
CRS might have a kit? http://rodshop.com.au/
hoppers stoppers also http://www.hoppers.com.au/
i cant find the bloke this kit came from, but hes a transit wrecker in Cheltenham Vic.Au BJ automotive i think its called.

well, a little more progress.
spend a few hours chipping away with the hoses and gas mixer and converter locations.
normally the coil is mounted under the carby on the engine block, but thats almost directly under the water drain in the heater air intake.
besides if there was ever a need to work on it, its accessable easy now.

not sure why the water pump heater return is 3/4 size. but i am going to get a 3/4 fitting screw it to the other T piece i have and run a short length of 3/4 hose to it. normally theres a 5/8 hose with a 3/4 flare on it. (not something i want to rely on someone having in stock if i need one in the middle of nowhere.)

will be rewiring the headlights with a Big relay and will swap to globe type instead of the sealed beams also. as the headlights were useless when i drove the van home at night.

hope to spend a bit of time on it tomorrow and hear it running at least on petrol (weather forcast turns bad after tomorrow, back to winter weather)

spent some more time today finished the hoses off(couldnt get the brass fitting i wanted so bought the flared hose instread)

noticed the accelerator is dodgy at the pedal end, so will have a look at wether a falcon one can be easily adapted

anyway will sort the electrics next, if weather allows

heres a quick vid of the sound.

well, did a little more tinkering today.

decided i would move the indicator switch to the correct side, had to drill 2 new locating holes in the steering column to mount them correctly.
i need to extend the wiring next to make them work.

i hate the headlight switch on the stalk as i have bumped the wipers on accidently which doesnt wipe very well on a dry windscreen.(i will cut it off flush.)
so i am going to fit a cortina TE headlight switch, has dimming control for the dash lights and also can switch an iterior light on with another output. i have a full cortina loom here to chop up but i'll leave most of the Transit wiring for the lights as is.
i am thinking of using the TE headlight wiring plugs and a section of loom though with a big dual circuit relay.

nothing looks any different yet, but i have the dash in lots of pieces. i'll also wire up the cortina tacho cluster which i think i have the wiring sorted for that now also.

well. it doesnt look much different

But, now it starts and runs on gas. petrol/gas wiring is complete. converter and lockoff mounted and so is the charcoal cansiter.

under bonnet is nearly complete, will just find the wires for the oil pressure and temperature senders (or run new wires)
wire my headlight relay, and fit up fan belt and radiator etc.

going to be concentrating on dash wiring etc next, got to work out why the heater fan isnt working too

well, got a vid of the exhaust sound while on gas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eATuqWmqCOw

wired the original headlight switch, wipers and indicator stalks for the opposite side mounting
seems to be fine,

started wiring up My cortina cluster and am having a few issues.
looks like i need to figure out where the voltae regulator is for the oil, temp, petrol guages cos they dont work. not sure if its dead or missing a wire yet.

and i cant figure out how to wire up the brake fail light, its got a falcon master cyl with 2 wires off it.

will get there in the end i spose.

8) 8)
some of the regulators will swap over (just screwed on) on those style clusters - they are a bit puzzling when swapping dashes as all the wire connections are in different places  but you'll get there 8)

well, still chipping away
found the heater fan resistor all mangled, going to look at cutting the hole bigger in the heater box and fitting a falcon fan resistor.
havent tested the fan yet, but cant see it not working?

gave up on the cluster wiring for now, and half way through the headlight wiring with relay and H4 globe type headlights.

took my front brake hoses to be remade which came up great for $50 the pair, now a litttle shorter as they were rubbing on steering parts.

the rear axel seal leak should be fixed by swapping the whole axel from another falcon diff i have here. and i fitted the near new rear brake shoes and wheel cyls from another diff i had here. have to pick up my drums from being machined tomorrow, then bleed the brakes.

got some rubber bushes to source, and some rust to repair, but not a lot left on the list now.

nothing worth taking a photo of in this post though. exept the state of the dash at the moment
