General driving about 26/28 MPG, probably nearer 20MPG blasting up the motorway, maybe 35MPg + sitting at steady 55MPH ?

Think Your Dads is 25/26 Miles Per Gallon is about right (if I've converted it from metric ok :? )

Hi all, 1stly i'd like to thank everyone for this fantastic forum,

im currently converting a 100ps 4ea turbo di engine over to a bosch 145 pump ( with much thanks and help from the people on this forum ) i just wondered weather someone may be able to answer a quick question for me,

once you have carried out the conversion to the bosch 145 pump do you leave the original low pressure fuel lift pump on and working as in still supplying fuel to the injection pump ?

if anyone could clarify this it would be much appreciated

many thanks

Hi,

I am about to make the conversion on a 1997 Hi top transit 2.5 TD with lucas pump. If Alan is still around I'd really appreciate your number on standby just in cas I run in to problems... I know this was a couple of years ago so it may be a long shot!

get the bits that don't match from a bosch pumped van...

The bosch pump only needs 1 wire to run correctly - and you can get that from the existing injection pump loom (top row middle purple and black if I remember correctly)

Hello! i've read the thread and i'm very motivated in doing this conversion to my transit since it keeps on coing to "limb mode". I'm not big fan of these electronically controlled systems. I need reliability.

I just didn't understand that is the pump that fits any bosch pump ending to numbers 146, 145, etc talked on this thread?

I have 1997 2.5 TD long and high transit (european, if this matters?). Just bought it and worked well for a week :' < i need it every weekend.

Best Regards -Turo

Hi, i've read the thread through and some things are unclear to me.
Does any bosch pump ending to a numbers mentioned in this thread fit or does it have be from a transit?

I have 1997 2.5 TD with lucas epic and the red light keeps on going on, some days it don't but more often it does i think.
I would like to make the conversion to bosch pump.

Hello, I have recently replaced the epic pump on my MK5 1999 county van with the 686-2 Bosch pump and i am having problems getting the van to run properly again I have read as much as i can find about it on here but dont know what to do, can anyone help or suggest anything to try.

I have now got it done and everything assembled and have also managed to bleed it through and get it running but unfortunately i dont think it running on all cylinders and when i give it acceleration theres hardly any power there and cuts out when i let it off.

I before i put it all back together i checked the timing many times but cranking the engine round by hand and fitting all the pins back in successfully every time.
I am pretty sure i have got all the air out the fuel system, the solenoid is definitely getting power and the pump and fuel filter have fuel.
I am at a total dead end with what to try next.

Would massively appreciate any help as am getting frustrated looking at my van doing nothing.

thanks,
sam

Have you advanced the timing fully on the pump slots?

As ake says, with the pins in it wil be too retarded. Advance the timing on the pump!
