how about normal sized along the bottom of the bumper hinged so every time it hits a speed bump or you go above 30mph it hinges flat up behind the bumper

now thats a really great idea alan....matching the grille mesh! very very good idea umm all i need to do i graft several grilles together and hey presto factory fitted front end again......i do like it exposed though but that would just finish it off
