Rover.

Ah  didn't twig that  .
OK you caught me out.
But would that oversize pickup on the V6 fuel pump be part of the way they increased the flow rate? Seems logical to me now that mr custom will need an uprated pump, as the cosworth has more power than the standard Ford V6. So a pump for a 2l engine will never handle the pace, running at max speed permanently.

Custom,
Check out the Ford Power 24v forums, you ought to cop some info there dude.

If Custom is running a Cav pump, but out of the tank, no wonder it is overheating.... They run v hot and use the fuel to cool themselves...?

Custom, have you any digis of your ex manifolds and pipework yet?....:-)

curious how you did it.... :-)':o'

tanks and pumps....

Postby dipstick » Wed Nov 15, 2006 2:40 pm

... is the pump an in-the-tank pump, or a 'dry' pump....

as for the pipe work, i take it you need 12mm dia pipe work to and from the tank and pump?, can you not make the pipework you got onyour new tank fit your old tank?

cheers

... well the pump can be mounted on a bracket, on rubbers, with a pre-filter, next to the tank i should think...?
, do you really need to use the metal tank?

:)

diesel tank wont work as the pick up for it is in the top of tha tank and if you go round a corner and the fuel goes to one side of the tank for more than 10 secs the external pumps will burn out as there not being lubricated

Thats why it has a swirl pot :? :? All the conversions iv seen use diesel tanks 8) and external pumps

The carbbed petrol ones dont have a swirl pot. Have you thort about using a tank from a MK5 DOHC with the internal pump
