Luke,

Re the engine mount rubbers.... i sourced a pair from the Van Place in Southgate (I think), London, all the mounting rubbers are roughly the same, so a pair of anyones will do.....

cheers :)

Guy,

do you have the remote water/oil cooler fitted....? Then yes, there is a problem ...! :(

I figured it would be easier to use a 'conventional' oil cooler mounted up front, and lose the water/oil cooler, then this might free up some room...?

good luck :)

Guy, yep, i pulled all the water pipes out of the Vee, i am going to reroute then 'the long way round' in 15mm copper and then back up to the heater matrix in rubber, messy but easier to fit up and fettle .... ! :)

cheers

ex manifolds vs adapter plate...! :(

http://photobox.tiscali.co.uk/album/alb ... o=88304291

if you can see in these two images, the ex manifolds foul on the adapter plate!

i cannot grind away the plate as it supports the MT75 box there..... so has has anyone in this position got over it.....?

I know Guy is extending the manifolds off the head, how is that coming along? :)

anyone else got any ideas?..... Luke, Custom.... anyone ........?

cheers

Remember yours is a BOB. Mines a BOA and the manifolds are different.

Could you not cut the flange off and re weld it at the back or the last port :? :?

... bo11ox....

i did not realise that there were that many differences between BOA and BOB motors, i thought it was just the cam chains and cams.... :( ?

... yep, i think it will time to get out the angle grinder and chop off the ends of the manifolds.... :(

... how is your cast iron welding coming along...?:)

cheers,

ps have you got any digis of your manifold extension 'flanges' yet ...? :)

i didnt realsie the BOB manifolds were different either :? are the ports the same :?:

i think like me, you have a few options
1. like guy - manifold extentions, but for mine i think they wont look neat enough
2. cut the flange off and weld it back on further back - even if you dont fancy welding it you could take it to any fab shop and it wouldnt be a problem
3. new manifolds - made from scratch - at the moment this is what im thinking of doing, but im a long way behind you - i havent even got my engine in yet. ive looked at a few pics and i reckon it wouldnt be too dificult but probly the hardest way round it

depends on the tools you have how confident you are with a welder and the finish you are aiming for :D

Luke,

i am investigating the differences between the BOA and BOB ex manifolds today ...

i think it will be best to either cut off the ex manifold flanges and reweld, or get new manifolds made up ....depending on the cost of each ..... i cannot weld cast iron, never tried anyway... :)

cheers ....

Guy, niiiice. ........ :)

I can see the difference now between the BOA and BOB manifolds, so are you going to put flanges on either ends of those oval 'tubes' and then sandwich the 'tubes' between the head and the manifolds?

good luck, cheers

ps, how did you get the 'tubes' oval, was it bought that way or did you 'squash' some round tube...? :)
