I was wondering today whether the new engine would be torquey enough.

torque:- 530 Nm (391 lbft)@5600

Yeah, that should be enough :!: :!: :!:

yeah but....cossy isnt turboed, is it? plenty of those engines on ebay...£1700+ for a bare engine, £2500+ for a complete kit. people must be sticking them in allsorts. still not cheap tho...im still looking at chargers, still reckon theres more go/£ there. G60 ones look like they'll fit no trouble but arent cheap, clk ones easy under 200 quid..... :D

dont get me wrong Gavin - i wont start slagging the cossy lump off (like geoff puk and madmark do) just cos ive got something better :!: i still think it's a crackin FORD engine 8) i loved every mile of it when it was in and can't wait to see yours done 8)
if i had space and time i'd get another van and put my old engine in it and carry on fit the turbos etc. would have been interesting

and yeah the JZ's are expensive but ....... why not you only live once

i know luke but look at this, ok theres some money in the fab work but thats a £200 quid ebay charger, the cosworth TB is mounted on the back of the charger and the plumbing looks quite simple.

the car now runs a 2933cc supercharged cosworth V6 producing around 350bhp and 520nm of torque @1800 rpm.

bet theres less than 2 and a half grand in making it work

impressive 8) - i'm suprised he's retained the standard plenum tho :o certainly looks interesting to do 8)

but £2.5k mabe :| ............. mabe more  you'll need to price in new pistons to lower the c/r and it could do with a crank girdle to stop it splitting the crank  like i said - ive not got a bad word against the BOA :D

and your gonna need more than half an hour a week to get thet done :!:

well itching to get this engine out i went up to find the aristo stuck under snow

half an hour later i'd dug it out :D but then it wouldn't start - battery flat :( so i put the battery on charge and i'll try again tomorrow :D

btw that supra next to it is the car to blame for introducing me to the 2JZ

eventually thats the plan  - 1st aim is to get it in and running as standard - but i may have to swap the turbo's for clearance issues :)

once its in there will be more power for a while, then i'll proberbly be back to sorting the chassis see what it can handle and tune the engine as far as i can without destroying the everyday drive :D
