The engine side of the gearbox mounting has a long vertical fracture so the engine was only attached to the gearbox down one side. Made a glorious noise when i started her up on saturday morning! Clutch slip was a killer

Ok, thats 2 of you and i trust both of you...

What happens about the gearbox??? Is the engine heavier??? How long will ALL the adjustments take??? What do i do about engine mountings? Are you all coming to maldon this week to deliver and fit this? What is this engine from and what year? How do things like glow plug lights get wired to the dash? Does this 150 include everything that will make this engine work as a replacement? What happens about the dodgy nissan exhaust, does that have to change? What happens about emissions as part of the mot?

I have spent a year getting intimate with a pinto set up, this possible change does terrify me, i'll be honest

If you let me loose on the injection pump, you might even produce some BLACK smoke

If the Captain says the engine is a goodun, then it is exactly that, power will be slightly down over a 'good' pinto, but the torque will more than make up for it, besides I would stick an intercooler on it for you

Thanks Tim, sorry i didnt meant to question the capt over the quality of the engine...it was how the engine held in puk was my thinking. I still pause over the other questions though

It will fit straight on your Type 9 'box...

If me,Tony and Tim were let loose on Puk it would be done in a day.

It will be cheaper to run too...

The only thing I don't have is the Fuel filter but,

that will be found in Tim's cave I'm sure

Thanks capt. I see this...tony and i can just do a pinto before saturday week. If the 3 of you were game for this we would have maybe saturday or sunday coming to do this in...i am overwhelmed by your very kind offers, truly and if you all think this would be the answer, i wont argue. But, this needs to be done and completed by a week saturday...

Its cast so welding is not adviseable, best also to find out why it broke
