Van original diesel tank was converted to petrol, quite easy in the end as the pickups sort of fit each other. The petrol pickup didn't want to fit in the locking ring so a quick blast from a heat gun to warm up the plastic and it popped straight in. The breather pipes were warmed up and bent to fit as were the supply and return fuel lines as they didn't point in the right direction on this tank.

Brakes went on this weekend, Mondeo MK3 front and swapped rear drums for discs

One small difference between the subframes, as this is the frame from the focus the front wishbone bolt is smaller in diameter so when swapping back to the connect suspension this had to be opened up to take the bolt
Image
The focus driveshaft fits the connect hub, the shock won't fit as its a smaller diameter, the wishbone also won't fit as the ball joint is part of the wishbone on the focus and on the connect its in the hub. The track rod ends are the same just fitted in opposite directions

Finally finished after 6 weeks and made it to the Fast show at Santa Pod with no problems

Image

Dash turned out well, still needs the sides sorting and glove box fitting and then I'll do something with the door cards to tie it all together

Wheels came out ok could do with a couple more coats of lacquer though

Next job on the list is to drop the suspension, I'd like to do this on air if possible but thats going to depend on time and budget,
then make a stainless system that wont get jammed up in the axle when the suspension is dropped
