progress welll sort of :lol: as some may know im converting it to ifs from a mk4 full breakdown of that can be read in the latter part of this thread!
Ive just got back from collecting a front axle with PAS and an Anti roll bar a £31 bargain of evilbay
Im gonna strip it all and shotblast it, fit new bushes and ball joints etc. couple of new shocks and a coat of paint well thats the plan

My plan is now to fit the ifs and then start on the engine nearly bagged a 24v scorpio too but was outbid by £5 anyway no rush ........... cant rush a good thing

Dont ever give your job up will you, you would be hard pushed to find another that lets you do all the welding/cutting/shotblasting/storing etc etc

Bit more progress managed to get a scorpio 24v so i'll be transplanting the engine over the winter and i'll update my progress on THIS THREAD

had a bit of a change of plan today decided i'm going to pull the engine back out and paint the engine bay before i can do that i need to get all the welding done so the only bit needed is the mt75 tunnel extention so i cut down the piece out of the mk4 and ended up with this


hopefully i'll make the front join bend back under it so it cant be seen from the engine bay

dont think so - just clean it if i dont get a move on i'll not get it done for this summer i may paint the plenum, but i'm also considering getting a 2nd engine and doing a complete rebuild to a higher spec and fitting it later, but thats just a plan at the moment - i'll see how it all runs with this engine/box/axle etc. first!

mk4 gearbox tunnel is welded in and sealed up

engine bay is stripped ready for paint, just got the old steering box infill panel to weld in but my welder is being a t**t at the moment and i want it back 100% before i weld that piece in - no grinding it off and having a 2nd go

once thats done its paint for the engine bay i was origanally gonna do it white (nice for working on, good light reflection etc.), but everyone has convinced me to do it grey matching the van - otherwise it will look like a white van painted grey

yeah i agree you cant beat a white engine bay for practiality - ive done my pickups engine bay white but its just everyone else convincing me and i can see there point, i am trying as best i can for the "factory look"
