not got a 2wd sump yet but got a few enquiries to make :D i'm thinking next get as much bolted in place before we take the engine out to fit the sump - that way any jobs that need the engine out to do can be done then so all going well the engine only has to come out once more

bit more done today :D

only had an hour spare but trial fitted the front panel bumper etc just to check it all fits ok - only problem is the rad hits the front pulleys on the engine :( - but looking at it i can mod the btm rad cross member about 1" forward and it should give clearance :D

i just need to sort out the correct rad for it and make sure that fits the same :D but thats another thread

looks well mate, was there a plate on the original engine were it meets the gearbox as on older petrol tansits.
cossy looked to good to bust, was it a late k-reg cossy as it looks like a escort cossy motor, with the new style altenator and bracket, bottom pullet etc
i thought about doing this last year but done a mk4 escort van instead 4x4 looks like a old royal mail van with a diference
keep up the good work

cheers wenny

nope its a strait fit (same as the mk5 dohc transits) only the mk3/4 had the plate :D its different to the mk5 box tho the stick is in a different place :!:

it was an H-reg, not sure if it was the origanal engine hadn't looked at the numbers but it's certanly been out of the sierra a few times before we got it

I think most Cosworth engines have been out a few times, well proper ones anyway.

Another good day :D

got the wiring loom out of the sierra - looks so much easier than the 24v one and there seems less of it  roughly placed it over the engine bay and really it needs shortening quite a bit - we are thinking of placing the ecu on the bulkhead in the engine bay :)

hopefully sorted the rad out :D a fwd one should do the trick and in the origanal position too :D

tried the clutch cyl in and it's no good - needs the cyl bar extending to do it best, rather than making up a spacer - but i didnt measure the pivot on the release arm so i cant work out by how much

had a look at the pas pump - the DOHC one would be ideal and it's almost there if we can use it it will all be standard stuff but the mount is slightly bigger on the cossy engine so needs a bit of work to get it fitted and the alt might be in the way :? but if it can fit it will be utilised :D

if its doenst rain were gonna be back on it tomorrow  - then during the week stu's gonna sort out the sump, new clutch and rad! then hopefully during the week out with the engine then back in for good

no pics but it's not really changed much visually

wait for the smiley when it first starts

Just got the clutch sorted - extended the lever by swapping it for a M8 bolt  once its road tested i'll mod the origanal lever to the exact length :D

other than that decided to fit the ecu inside - gonna drill through the bulkhead :D

but rain's stopped play just now :x
