Can't remember ever removing a MK5 headlights without breaking at least one bolt... Could never understand why they did away with the MK3 plastic twist clips

No more progress since last time. Wanted to get the rear doors and front wings sorted as they're rotten but whenever I've had some spare cash to buy the wings something else crops and the money gets used for something else! Like the UJ on the prop shaft going
I did buy a new passenger side rear door from dieselhead but it seems they were all labelled wrong and all they had were drivers side doors!
I managed to find a half decent rear door at the scrappies that just needs a couple of small repairs.

Sooooo the plans for this year in no particular order are...
replace front wings and arches
replace the warped rear brake drums and shoes (already got the parts)
new front bumper and grill (again already got these parts)
repair the rear doors
probably a bit of welding underneath for the MOT
replace the mismatched fog lights (got replacements already)
replace the noisy heater motor and resistor (parts arrived yesterday)
paint the mirror covers white.

thats all I can think of at the moment. finding the time and money isn't always easy as I cant really have it off the road for too long as it's needed for work.

Also need to do the inner and outer sills on the xr2 this summer.

Some good work there. How hard was the electric adjustable headlights to fit?

Mine were very easy to fit as all the wiring was there already, the only annoying bit for me was having to drill out the snapped bolts but I was expecting that to happpen

Despite having a chest infection I decided today would be a good day to go and sort the heater motor and resistor.

The old motor was making a right old racket, clonking, rattling and squeaking and its not hard to see why that was

and it was a bit of a pig to get out as well

I have the high spec loom so i have a couple of spare plugs by the lights so i guess the wiring would be there. Never seen a set of head lights with the adjusters though or the switch.

I don't think that loom had the headlight connectors Mark, but I didn't actively look for them, so I may be wrong.

Most tourneos had the adjustable headlights... I have a spare switch somewhere

Hi, they're actually proper transit clocks from a tourneo with a plasma dial kit for a mondeo. I did try some mk2 mondeo clocks previously but they didn't work properly. The mondeo clocks seem to be a bit hit and miss whether they work properly or not

Will get out and have a look at my wires soon. Got an exhaust to change first.
