My 2nd battery will last about 6hrs now with the heater on, then the low voltage alarm wakes me up.
A few recent night's I haven't needed it on though as the weather's starting to warm up a bit

Cheers :P 8)

It's been about a week since I was last on the A9 but looks like they've finished all the resurfacing etc in the carrbridge/aviemore area, but there's still the big ones at balinuig with 30mph and SPECS cameras, they've still got a good few months left

And there's still loads of roadworks in inverness itself right now. The van is in for a service today so I was riding round on one of the bikes, and 2 out of the 3 specific m/c parking bays in the city centre are closed :| :x
Hopefully they'll re-open them once they've finished everything

Oh and nevermind Inverness you might spot me doing laps of Glasgow

Will keep a look out for you lets face it your not hard to spot

The layout of Inver city cnter has changed so much recently and for awhile i thought it was never going to improve every time i go there they have shut or changed roads (i think the road planner was brought in from Edinburgh  )

Cheers for the traffic info,i hate driving the A9 when its busy but love going to Inverness will watch out for Gabby :!: :) :)

Just a tip on batteries for continuos non charging state.

Normal batteries arnt designed to be dischaged and then charged up again over and over.
The plates inside a normal battery sulphate and warp really quickly and can cause alternator failure.

What is ideal are leisure (Deep cycle batteries as they are designed differently for deep discharging and then charging up again.

I use the acc wire from the ignition switch to control a relay that allows for charging but the relay is also controlable via a LED type switch, this allows to me to control at the push of a switch wether to charge the 2nd bank of batteries located in the rear.

So many ideas, so little time but its all fun
