Thanks for the support mate 8)

Going to get some paint on this week, customer's work permitting, then I can 'showcase' the new front inner wheel arch liner that I had as a 'sample' from my supplier

Finally, we now have a Manifold Pressure Compensator top for the injection pump on the 'Chucklebus';

It was taken from a MAN pump and has the required clockwise throttle operation.
The connection for the governor assembly is different to the Transit top, so I will be using the 'spring' type, the spring rate is selected to give the required maximum rpm 8)

whats so different about the governor lever?

won't you be using the transit throttle spindle and governor cage/springs?

Hi mate,
The lever that comes down from the guide pin is shaped differently, the main part protrudes into the pump body on the opposite side, so I was thinking about using the throttle lever that came with the pump top.
The type fitted with Manifold Pressure Compensators tend to have a 'spring' governor.
The 'Dodge' tuners, change the springs to alter max rpm, so I thought about using one from a 1.4 Fiat diesel, rpm limit being 5,400 or thereabouts.
I will have to get some pics up of the different undersides, camera on charge at the mo

Ah right, I see what you mean now

A lot of Bosch pumps with LDA tops I've seen have the same governor as the Transit pump....

but as long as it works, it doesn't matter 8)

My transit will pull on the open road to 5,000rpm, so probably more than that stationary.....
Not sure I'd want to exceed 5,000rpm too much

have you thought about an oil cooler at all ?

I noticed all the marine ones have oil coolers on them.... looks easy enough to fit one... I've seen the same oil coolers on other things...
(the ones which screw onto the filter housing and then the filter screws onto it)

Make sure that you get all the water hoses mate, then you will be able to 'plumb in' the oil cooler, a worthwhile investment even on a non turbo.

Oil cooler is on the 'to get/fit' list for my transit......

Along with the boiler heat exchanger (once I work out the fittings)......
And water injection......
And a thermostart.......
And a big intercooler......

The list keeps growing :P
Most important are some big injectors :D

I was thinking the same.... was going to do timing belt/water pump / injectors on the new turbo engine before I install it
(planning to ad an inter-cooler too)

but... and I can't find it now.... there was a post on here from someone running a turbo with the govoner adjusted etc... and when he went to 130ps injectors all it did was give him more power at the top end 4500rpm plus iirc ?

which I'm not really bothered about tbh... not planning to rev it too hard...

An intercooler makes a difference :)

timing belt and water pump are always a safe bet to get done......

As for injectors, what turbo are you running?
because if its stock, the 100/115ps injectors should be more than up to the job of fuelling......

I believe your thinking of Feez's transit with a T3/T04E hybrid?
Disabled governor and 130ps injectors?

Dieselhead has a Toyota CT12B turbo with 130ps injectors....

130ps injectors are really suited to bigger turbos...
the marine engines, which is what the 130ps injectors are actually for, had a K26 (They are Mermaid Merlin Turbo engines if your interested)

Personally, I have a modified governor for 5,000rpm max, under load (never tried a max no load rpm  )

So unless you have a bigger turbo, or more rpm, the 130ps probably aren't worth getting.....
