Well happy got 7 of 8 bolts securely in, 6 of which I added a nyloc nut after the first to stop vibrations loosening nuts off the bolts.
The 8th bolt is sitting pissed so I fkd one hole up will re drill or maybe open up a tad from under van.

Man I gotta say I wish I cut all the bolts down... Due to space and clearance or lack of, and also lack of very long sockets, had to use bloody spanner to do all the bolts up, 8th of a turn at a time.
Took ages in the cold and me arms and neck ached like you would imagine...
Mad how a spanner gets so heavy after half hour !
Photos to follow Friday when I finish off!

Then seat belts and bulkhead etc !!!

dude how your still moving at all amazes me as you work out on cold concrete for like 18 hours a day not using owt to keep warm.....

Wow i actually got that last bolt sorted today. shoved the drill up the hole from under the van! slid straight thru after!!


need to go get some more penny washers, as i ran out. seats not gonna be in use yet so no big deal. used 3 smaller washers here


my favourite one... was well lucky where bolts went here!


got some plate i could chop up n drill at a later date to further spread loading forces out, but need to get metal cutting disc first after last lot of grinding took ages!.

drill still had enought charge to get these fitted, albeit a bit pissed, but fitted all the same and no longer clogging up door pocket!



that was all i did today, oh and pulled 6x9 box down off bulkhead too in readiness for when someone with a decent battery jigsaw passes by for a cuppa!!

hopefully getting seatbelts from the cap'n and some grab rails for front and side passengers to aid getting in/out soon so its coming along...slowly

only needs to be batery cos its agro getting an extension lead out round ere with out some old codger moaning !

I think I'd cut the bolts down a bit. Once all that thread is rusty after a couple of winters, undoing them is going to be no fun at all.

Might be a bit awkward getting a grinder in there to cut bolts.Maybe try a liitle silicone and a small piece of plastic tube to protect steel.Think I woul defo get a bit of steel plate across those bolts Rob as the Ministry Man might not like seats and belts being anchored using penny washers.Keep it up though

yes as soon as i find my bolt croppers ill chop em all down a lot. will get the plate cut n drilled some time soon as i agree, penny washers alone wouldnt be much cop in a crash!!

remind me to cut the bolts BEFORE i fart around undoing nut along 100mm of thread lol

ill get a cutting disc tomo and get it all finished properly! then i can get belts fitted, bulkhead cut etc etc

Looking good Rob, I had the same trouble with a few of my bolts spanner only, took forever.

Got meself a cutting disc today whilst round the shops... started to cut up the plate , got as far as scratching it when i was reminded Aaron was sleeping and i was supposed to be painting the wall in the front room as we got photographer from the estate agents coming round monday to photo the place...

And theres little me wanting to play with me tools eh ? NO no no!

tomo maybe as we got good progress done today wall painted x 2 cut in x 1 and shed load of crap either binned or burnt , inc a step ladder that was well rotten!

gonna basically cut out some plate squares or rectangles and drill the b*stards out and THEN cut those bolts down a few inches BEFORE i undo all those nuts again and fit the plates !

even got a can of primer to seal up the holes etc in a vein attempt to stop the holes rusting !

sadly didnt get owt done again today as still doing spring clean tidy up before man from Haart comes to photo our place tomo...

still in long run if we can move we all be so much happier and i might even have somewhere to play then like a drive way! or better still a garage !

just gotta sell our lil place first tho thats the hard bit ...
