i like the idea of the wcxm idea because it cant split and allow the engine to move but buy the nature of its design there isnt much contact spread on the rubber so i guess thats why you'll always get a harsh ride :(

i'm thinking of using matts idea of 2 mounts - the standard one to take the weight of the engine and cushion is and a 2nd one to hold it down and conteract the engine as the power is applied - basically to stop the origanal mount splitting in 2

these are a few sketches to show ith idea - A or C are my favorite :D

i ended up using a pair of nissan s14 mounts in the escort van after trying pinto type round bobbin mounts which were still transmitting too much vibration. these mounts are the buisness with the extra webs to control engine twist and the plate segments in the rubber seem to help with damping.

they were a pretty tight fit but well worth it. i think ill try and use a pair of these in the mk1 tranny van im doing this transplant on next!

i think your plan of running the stock mounts that came with the engine is a good one, they should offer a good compromise.

well it did take me almost 3 goes to get it right!!!

but i dont think you ill have any vibrations with a straight six, should be sweet as a nut. 8)

torsional strength will be most important for launching hard i imagine. i dont think those ones i used id be up to the job, i hear skylines run a beefier version.

i was thinking of making some solid mounts that i can swap for the track  i think you could change the mounts with a spanner and a trolley jack in 15mins :D
