nah not garenteed at all as soon as i mention 600bhp and drag strip in the same sentance

not much progress to post just getting little jobs done

looking into the radiator and intercooler at the moment

this was my latest idea for locations



but i was researching sizes and somone suggested a air/water intercooler - they seem to be much more space efficient - so i'm looking into those now

bit more progress

still not got anything done prop wise but ...........

ive bought a turbo - just a cheepy to mock it all up and get it running - i'm thinking that way i'll have a better idea of what exact turbo i need - no point wasting money buying the wrong one

also bought a brand new water pump from toyota - it was £126+p&p for a non genuine one and £141 for a genuine one from toyota - so no brainer really

been thinking about the intercooler a lot this week and was thinking of something along these lines



problem is no matter how much measuring i did i wasnt sure what fans i could get in and the exact size i could make the rad - so today i made a cardboard scale radiator

the front panel would fit on with the rad in this position


this one is 400mm high and also by having a cardboard one in i realised i could make it wider and have the mountings on the back

also i found i had a fair bit of space at the top in front of the engine so i reckon i could get 2x9" fans at the sides and a smaller 7" fan in the middle too - now to work out how small i can make the rad

this shows the space behind - and the turbo and pump

also shows the modded top hose isnt in the ideal position and mabe i'd have had enough room (and been better off) with the standard one

this is how i'm now thinking to have the intercooler

there is about 9" room height wise and as much space the the back as i'd need

yeah tempted but worried about the heat soak while lining up to nail you and also i dont think it'd get the same level of air flow through it there wouldnt be much difference in the pipes - this is 2nd shortest route

Youve rammed that little lot in well Luke you have got a lot of space to play with for the rad and int but the flow will restrict you looking at your tube routing a charge cooler looks like a good idea as your space for the intercooler on your drawing would be v nice for the prre-rad! as for the CC the bigger the better! expensive but i know that top-drag guys use this alot, i did wild-cat,,, ford thing owned by steve nash if you can find it !

The cooler is going to soak up so much heat with no airflow, you might have to fit a couple of of small fans from a computer or something, otherwise the it will be useless untill your half way down the track
