Well here is the great feat of engineering...using a long nut ground in half (just shy of in case i needed a different length) then ground through to fit over the wire...this gizmo tightened the accelerator cable enough to pull taught while reducing the plastic tightener thread. Worked really well. Covered in some duct tape now to ensure it doesnt snag on the heater pipe.

How cool is that!!! (rhetorical question obviously but im well chuffed)

One day someone will point me in the right direction for a new accelerator cable though, this one is too long and has suffered severe burns from sitting on the exhaust manifold (white duct tape and splint)

you coulda just cable tied it to the brake master chap, to keep it off the zorst
