That's the downside of modding, and of course the art of customising means all the really hard bits just look like they came from factory like that. Judging from your front bumper you won't have a problem modding the bulkhead. Get the hammer out

Like Nick said, test fitting has thrown up some problems, starting with engine mounts (genuine Transit V6), which have support brackets to the gearbox, but the O/S one is in the way of the oil pipe that run up the side of the block. So we had a dig around the storeroom this evening and found some more Transit V6 parts, flywheel etc. and some mounts that don't have the arms on, so one of those was used, that problem sorted.
Adaptor plates made for the MT75, are in the way of the exhaust manifolds flanges, so looks like some custom ones will have to made...
Then the O/S rocker cover is very close to the bulkhead, then the top of the O/S exhaust is also touching and we haven't even tried the inlet yet

We have both had a look through some threads on here, but I'm still not sure how other members have got around these issues, some pointers would be appreciated -

i got round the mount by making a jig of the ford one and using it to make up my own

We did think of notching the cast one or making a new one, do you think that support will be a problem if we use the one mount without.

Ive just had a message from NIck, who is at work now saying that he cant get the box in while attached to the BOB engine

Is the bob engine the last of the cosworth Cologne engines? I seem to remember that these where hard to defeat the immobiliser system on unlike the boa??? More power though I think.

It meant to be a stronger engine, people always seem to be scared of the BOB wiring, but we have a man who can thats the only reason Im saying that.

I had a mate who regularly put boa engines in different cars, but avoided bob because of the loom issues with the immobiliser, nice looking engines these, they fitted straight in the Sierra 4x4's shame ford never made them like that. These are a better engine as they got rid of the single camshaft chain, it was something silly like 9 foot long

I did get the engine and gearbox in today but the cylinder head is very close to the drivers side bulk head, so I will have to cut a little bit of the bulk head and re weld it and then smooth it off,i will get some pics as I go
ive found a company that can make me a set of manifolds for about £450 which I didn't think was to bad
so once ive got the manifolds done and the bulk head just got to see if the power steering and alternator brackets fit as they look close to the chassi on the drivers side and then all I got to do then is wire it up which should be a doddle

you wont believe how much metal i had to gring and belt sand off of the adaptor plate in mine, and the gearbox case to allow for the starter to fit!!! fekin hours!

good luck guys, youll sort it in the end... spare pair of hands here if need help with the looms...

Well I got a bit done today
Cut away at the bulk head to make way for the cylinder head

Then started to shape some metal and weld




And then a little grind up to finish the welds off

And the clearance is much better,hopefully finish the prep and get some paint in there

No mate,I did the welding on the floor and then pushed it on the ramp to refit the engine
