Had to make a new "box" to replace the part of the chassis that the propshaft centre bearing is fastened to.....

Made it from 2mm steel and its going to be a fully closed box with a bolt on lid (so I can bolt bearing carrier thru the base then bolt lid on after) so it shouldn't catch water and road dirt and rot like the original setup.....

Should look ok once its painted :)

Well nothing done for the last 2 days as been just too tired after work to go up to farm and do anything so will be weds now (one of only about 24 full days left so will have to put a good day in) have managed to locate one of the rear panel end caps so just one more to find :) I'm down to my last litre of yellow paint (which wont go far) but found a local distributer (not cheap tho £60 for 5 litres  ) to be fair tho some of the savings ive made on other stuff for this truck will pay for that many times over so not losing sleep over the price :)
should manage to get paint job started on chassis this week, getting that finished will be a real turning point (I think/hope) as it means I can start putting axle/suspension back in followed by front beam etc should see it ready to get it standing back on the floor on its wheels then it really will begin to look like a truck again :) :) :)

If it makes you feel better... the paint on Nadas green van cost nearly £400 for the 5L we used (including the activator etc)
Lucas Laser 2000/IDS
95 Pre Production DRW TD Highcube
95 Hallmark
96 150 100PS LWB Hi-Top
96 Autosleeper Duetto
06 Mk7 (scrap)
09 140PS T330S 2.2

Gaffa tape is like the force, it has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together

Well not as much work done today as I would have liked but happy with what has been done....First coat of paint on both steps and most of the rear chassis, and underneath the cab (from where gearbox crossmember fits to the back of the cab where chassis becomes "exposed") has been undersealed (everything was cleaned and primed before underseal was applied, not just covered over rust/crap) forgot to take camera so no pics but they wouldn't really show much anyway but hopefully next ones should :)

Steps painted.....
Image

Give the whole floor and the steps a coat of white paint first as when I did engine bay this turned out to be better than the yellow on top of the grey primer (should have used white primer  ) but have plenty of white smooth hammerite so might as well get it used :!: (still think they need another coat tho) did the whole of the chassis in white too...
Image
including the inside of the new centre bearing carrier box thingy....
Image

splashed the last bit of yellow from the tin on a few bits......
Image
Image

and undersealed most of the underside of the cab....
Image

back to work for 2 days now so back up on Thursday for some more...... :)

You mean "as it was when I picked it up" :?: unfortunately I don't :( I rang the guy I got it from a while back to ask if he still had the ones he used on Ebay but he'd deleted them from his computer so there's none of it as it was then, only the ones from the start of this thread
It looked just like any old neglected transit....hand painted in green gloss paint that you could scrape of with your fingernails, sat quite straight and level (fook knows how :?: ) it was almost snapped in two  (drove quite well too :?: :?: :?: )
