OK guys first off thanks for the comments.

With the rustoleum you can paint over any surface no primer required and lets say you are the worlds worst roller painter....it will still look pretty good and if you spend some time rubbing it down you will still have a great finish. Whilst you won't get a spray glossy glass finish just rollering, with a bit of elbow grease to rub it down you can.

It has some self leveling properties so it tends to smooth itself out while drying but the more careful you are with the roller the better the finish and less rubbing you need to do. There are some spots on mine that I got a few bubbles on but I haven't rubbed it down yet so hopefully I can get a really good finish once I've had a bit of a polish.

well I put my name down for the northern meet, and i would like the vast majority done by then dont want to bring a shodder. This has focused me into getting stuff done as Ive found too many excuses lately. Its good to have a deadline.

Bought some supplies this evening and cracked on with the seat/bed frame...£45 of timber...jeez its expensive, luckily I have thousands of screws otherwise this could have been silly money. Also sourced some caravan cushions over in Scarborough for a tenner...well worth the £20 of diesel to collect. Had to stop as the electric saw was annoying the neighbours...its a quiet cul-de-sac

small update, completed the L shaped seating area tonight not bad for an hours work

i got my bus from Scarborough.... cost me a damn sight more than £20 to go collect it tho

small update today, started making cupboard doors and then had a bit of a tidy up read for tomorrows trip. this will be the longest journey yet around 180 miles round trip. apologies for the picture quality still havent cleaned that lens





Inreality I have only fitted one door the one under the sink and fixed one panel at the side of the sink. All the other panels have been cut to size and are just resting in place for effect. The work top isnt. It just a spare bit of chip board I have.

Just finished a 4 hour round trip drive in the van to collect my cushions. Met the nicest bloke ever who was basically emptying 2 caravans to turn them into chicken coups and more or less said take what you want from them tenner the lot. Got more cushions than I know what to do with plus a bathroom door a strip light and a few other odds and ends. It may have saved me more than I thought as the covers on one set are just about the right colour scheme and wont need recovering.

Got a bit of chopping and changing to do with the foam but overall I've probably saved about £100 today.

Van ran faultlessly, steady 60 all the way beautiful drive there and back and it doesn't feel like I've done 170 miles in over 4 hours. still feel fresh and relaxed and really enjoyed driving, just wish I had a radio or CD player but didn't really miss it...or a passenger. Just me the van and an open road.....lol

Hats off to you ,lots of hard work but i'm sure it will be worth it .i have a minibus parked up with a fully rebuilt engine and night heater etc etc it would be ideal for a similar project.

small update, the Mrs has been at it again with her sewing and sorted the seats out. I made a few small mods to the seating and fitted two more cupboard doors. Currently working on the bathroom framework but it will be tricky until I replace the roof

Got a bit more done today, back panel sorted ready for high level cupboards and one side of the toilet with the door hung. PLus a permenant worktop is now in place with a new piece of contiboard

todays update, managed to complete the bathroom structure and fitted the top unit above the work top just a door to fit. Struggled a lot today as the jigsaw packed up and it was hot outside making the manual sawing hardwork. Also the mrs started putting edging strip on all of the cupboard doors. Nearly there with the structure now, just the final wardrobe next to the loo and seats to complete. Then its all the finishing bits...electrics, water and gas....then we can start camping
