I stupidly lent the whole set in binders I had to someone I worked with and then they left !

It must have been early 80's. The magazine first came out in 79, and the van is pre facelift. I don't know if there are back issue lists or if someone has one on ebay. I will have a look.

I found this shop on ebay with some contents listings. Looking at the covers I am guessing not as late as 82. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/R-L-Books-and-Collectables

Tiny bit of repair to one side but the rest is only surface rust.

i've not done anything with the rear end yet, but looking at the valence i got from you,
most of the rot is whats left of the old valence, plus a 2" strip below each of the holes for the original transit lights.
I think i'll keep it L.H.D. if i can get the 2 dash parts that are different from R.H.D. models, though i will be leaving the R.H.D. column support in the dash just in case

I didn't realise how much of the roof was still original steel.

the front corners of the original roof have been re-profiled to match the grp roof and its been done properly and has been leaded right where i have to weld - so there is no rust at all in that part :)

Will the leading make any difference to the welding then?

no, not if its cleaned off properly, but i was worried that there was not going to be enough decent metal to weld to, the leading has kept the tin worm away from every thing it covered
