Camper Conversion using recyled materials.

i weighed mine last week and it came in at 2700kg the way it is with only €10 worth of fuel in it so i say you must be near the 3ton mark

Its been a while since I updated this post, I started out just intending to use recycled materials on my van, got to the stage where the van was nearly finished, it had a double bed, 2 bunk beds , a cooker and sink but today I ripped everything out as I realised I had rushed into it 2 feet first and never had any real plan in place.
Now the plan is to buy another van (transit of course ) and use that for my daily run around and take the party people bus off the road for a complete overhaul starting with the bodywork, the amount of rust thats appeared lately amazes me, im afraid to go over a speed ramp incase something falls off.
The van started life in green, now its blue, and I am toying with changing it to gun metal grey.
Cab is getting striped and insulated , will try locate captains seats (taking out bench seat).
Rear will be insulated and wired for mains and 12 volt, after that I am going to plan the lay out taking ideas from variuos members here who have converted theirs.
I reckon now its going to take 12 months from start to finish as funds are non exsistent for this project at the moment.
There is some excellent conversions here so the next few weeks will be spent drawing up a plan of the layout.
as soon as some friends heard I am buying another van, offers were made to buy the party people bus off me but no sir she is not for sale, its the only auto td transit around here and its the most reliable van I have ever owned, started first turn of the key even when it was -15 here, ok she took me backwards through a timber fence on a back road a few weeks ago but she is forgiven for that, after all the mk5 trannie loves to dance on ice
Will take photos and keep things up to date here but I wonder should I start a new thread as it will not be a conversion using recyled materials, mods please advice me on this

Shame to here about the rust but the all rust i found 3 new hole in mine today now i know why i never wash it
If you need any help with welding i can do it as i have been learning how to weld with mig now and hope to have a mig welder soon

well, the rust is the transits answer to cancer....

but two lads with a migwelder, grinder an a little patience should sort that out easy

The A series we are restoring are a low budget project as well, you just need to take the time neccesary to spread the costs...

I really liked the part of the interior ont he photo in the beginning of the thread:) looked nice:)

Nice1 Tom will give you a shout when ive got her rust free and ready for the welding. We are thinking of meeting in LaHinch sometime in May, looks like there is 4 or 5 up for a meet now.

That interior came out of a mobile home, might reuse it but not in a u shape. Must check out your A series

Ya its close to you, so we would be expecting you to be our tour guide , . When I start the interior I will buy another caravan, might let you at it with the grinder
