m8 must have been proper fkin clogged. must have been slowing me down!

pinto sorted, my neighbour ade tweaked the distributer timing and she perked right up!
got a Di centre box, brand new from s e motor factors, £28 inc vat (&2 gaskets)

will fit weds as off weds, should be within my abilities(i hope lol)

should be less dragster sounding then :lol:

Yeah was thinking cam. is it JUST the cam, or do you have to change followers etc too??

Well i got home early ish today so i had the opportunity to use the last of the daylight to get under the van and sort the exhaust.
fitted a standard Di centre box, on its own it sounded wicked,
got my stainless cut down to length and fitted, sounds ok but really quiet. Oh well least i wont draw too much attention ! :lol:

Handy in Essex I would imagine, let them pull over the saxos instead!
As for the cam, I think it's just buy and bolt in, but someone will let you know.

it defo running better but still think it needs some magic touch as theres not much past 4000 rpm, or is this normal for a 30 yr old pinto lol?
reckon its holding back a tad but such a quiet delight to drive theres fek all engine noise now!!!

put a twin carb on it :) and yes they are are lovely and quiet indeed :lol: :)

possibly vacuum advance wasnt connected , on account of pipe being too long and worn end so cut it off, reattached it. made some mid range improvement but think dizzy needs readjusting now said pipe firmly reattached!

Had a play with the dizzy today, think im getting the hang of this trial n error lark. Also re instated the PATS today as i got the RIM module back from Dieselhead123 that was on my diesel engine. plugged it in, replaced the relay and no more flashy flashy moany moany PATS. all good. just gotta wire fuel shut off thru pats module now(via relay) to give me few more mins if someone tries hotwiring from inside!!
That said i want a quick release steering wheel like AndyJ's got !!! 8)

Yes he has Luke, you pilot drilled them for him, I reckon his keeping them for a surprise for us :lol:

yes they are in shed- can drill out t5he 13mm holes, but i neede a 60degree metal counter sinker. think ill ask captain hook nicely if he'll get his man with a metal shop to finish the holes!
