Reweld done on gear box support to chassis but he pointed out the oil seal from gearbox to dif had gone...he said it maybe a jon job...anyone got a jono guide??? you know the plea by now...which part have i got to get and what should i do? As always, all help and advice appreciated

Oh and it was a nice mechanic called Andy in Chelmsford who restores...welds and worKs saturdays if anyone needs a contact

Is it similar to doing rear oilseal on crank mutts?

Do i want to jack front or back of puk?
I assume its the 4 bolts that i can see looking straight down to the rear from the gearbox
Is there anything i need to do on the prop shaft seals while this is out?
Does the prop just drop or is it a pull towards the gearbox?
Is there anything i need to watch out for putting it back in?

I was reading up on a similar post on the capri forum and some people really had a go at the poster for asking basic questions and told them to get a haynes manual. Some of the posters were upset by the comment of the manual but i felt for the chap.

As always, i like this forum because it actually helps and there are some really good people on here helping. Thank you ever so much

No, it's not in a housing, it's just pressed into the rear of the tail shaft. U had better ring me John
