yeah that thought had crossed my mind too, especially as the fans are mounted at each end - but i think really i'd rather shell out the £575 and have it done right - this engines never coming out of here now

Today - i got the all the suspention back on ready for the wheels - i'm going to make an a-frame for it as my a-frame wont fit due to the spoiler, then i can tow it up to have the exhaust fitted

i'm trying a new pair of springs too they are red/orange which according to the spring oracle Andyg are 130 Di Bus 150/190 Di Van/Combi Single Cab 190EF Di Van/Single Cab All from 1998 to 2000, so hopefully they will be stiffer than the ones ive got in now (black ones in pic) i've shortned them too as i want it sat a bit lower than before and use my adjustable spring seat idea but thats a long way off

i've got some single leafs for the back (i'll fit em one day) - i dont want the back really low but mabe an inch or 2 lower than it is now

lookin at them springs ur about to fit(about 4 1/2 coils)they are about the same as the ones on my mk2 how low is ur spoiler an how good are you at repairin it

oops i can't see them being that low they were both ex-snapped springs and the van had been driving with them like it and i only cut 1/8 of a coil off so they cant be that low -although next to the other springs i dont know why i still think that - also yours is set lower than mine - but time will tell i'm having my tyres bead sealed then i'll fit them and take a pic

a lot of this is guesswork but i do need to drop it a fair bit looking at the stance it was

just want that last 2-3" on hydraulics

i'll be needing some extra weight up front to keep the front end down saves on the weight of the wheelie bars

i've got the old 8" wheels from the back i'd like to fit them to the front but they stick out loads ................. i keep looking at all the flared arches you can get for the yank vans ............... thinking what would fit best

noooooooooooooo cant put flared arches on should've cut a section out that x member u jus modded to narrow the track
and oi ya cant ave wheelie bars, thats my idea

well fitted the new springs and it's back down on its wheels - still way too high 3" between the tyre top and the arch never measured it before but i'd say its exactly the same

i need to work out how much clearance i need between the floor and the spoiler then lower it some more

it's sat on a pallet in the corner of my garage waiting for andyG to fit it in his mk5

didn't get much done this weekend but i did get the intake welded up this week, smoothed off the inside and tried it on for size
