Well it feels quicker than my 90PS focus despite weighing about 400kg more.

The smoke readings were also quite low so I might wind it up a bit more

Just catching up with this thread :!:
Looks like the last MOT man was right about the amount of corrosion :!: He said it will never pass another MOT, but I don't think he was banking on a MinorMatt/Kalkat extreme makeover :!:

10/10 for your progress and efforts on what should have realistically been scrapped :!:

Now, what's this "secret mod" all about :?: :o :?:  Come on :!: OUT WITH IT :!:

We debated it, but no thanks it won't work with our plans...

if you have the other keys it may be useful though...

Thanks to your welding lessons  yes.

BUT its got a sticky caliper, an oil leak and could really do with having the exhaust hung better and a new prop bearing before N weald.

I can't get to the van now until next saturday morning, so KalKat is going to be looking at it.

Kalkat has been in the workshop and freed off the caliper - so thats one less thing to worry about and buy!

we made it to North Weald, having replaced the prop center bearing, new injector seal and fitted a new bumper and getting the tax before leaving. We posted some respectable times as well!

My slowest time was 0.01 seconds faster than dieselheads fastest... so well chuffed with that.

Best time was 19.52 seconds and the best terminal speed was 71.94 MPH

The brake caliper is still sticking though!

2 problems with the van during the day, on the 2nd run the egr blank someone had fitted to the turbo (previous owner of the turbo) blew out and I lifted off, and the last run the timing belt slipped due to a helicoil in the block failing (it had done it least 50,000 miles on that helicoil with 4 belt/tensioner changes. Its now bodged up with an old style tensioner (thanks King of England) and thanks to everyone who helped to sort it out!

Incidently the "secret" mod was revealed... we have fitted a tailgate!
