This whole filler thing. Not looking too good. Going to hack it off tomorrow and have another go. Still haven't attempted the big scrape on the quarter panel. That masking business isn't as easy as it looks.
But on the plus side. Little Monty got the rear bumper nice and straight. Think I will just leave it to the 7 year olds.

So I did a bit today. Top coat on the inside of the SLD

Image

Popped the solid window out and got the surround painted

And put my tinted slider in
Image

Thats where it all went a bit tits up

Left with a fooking great gap on the seal. Am I missing something ??? Should there be a bit of trim or something ? Plus the window feels very loose.

The rubber looks like a good fit(except for overall length) but could the aperture in the door it was previously fitted to, be ever so slightly smaller than your door (a couple of mm could make the difference) :?: :?: :?: (I'm assuming that one or both of them have been cut out "after factory" :?: )

Could well be. The replacement door for the other side is standard minibus so I will see how I get on with that next weekend. I will be needing some seam sealer of some description. The little blighters don't feel that secure to me.

Are the rubbers easy to come by ? Weather strip you say ? I will give that a shot. Was going to hit it with the silicon, but I told that would mess up any future painting that needs doing.

never use silicone sealant on a vehicle, use a polyurethane sealant such as tiger seal or sikkaflex!

Righty . Considering putting the old girl up for sale and buying one with the bodywork all done, as body work doesn't seem to be my forte. And i cant afford to send it anywhere to be done.
Moted till next september only done 37k.
will add more info when i have made my mind up what to do.

Bodywork can be a bit slow and dull :(

But stick at it and you'll get there :D

   Monty don't be doin that :?: with some time (and patience) have some vision, it'll be fine man :) Its no where near as bad as this one I've just bought :!: Its not even run in mechanically so will last for years once its done :) just hang on till I can get there and i'll help you get it sorted I've got two "4 day weekends" before the end of this month and I'm not breakin my neck to do anything major up here now (getting too close to "Mania") so can spare a good couple of days of "miracle performing" on your bus :) :) :)

Just get on with what you can (when you can) in the meantime in order to get it to Billing (Doesn't matter what it looks like as long as its safe and sound and we still have 10 or so weeks left :!: :!: :!: )

Cheers chaps. It just gets so frustrating. I am actually looking forward to doing the interior. But this bodywork thing is really getting me down. I will stick with it for now, gets on my nerves walking past it when in not getting owt done.
