Didn't they know that they can unclip them?

Ahhh, wondered where they clipped, and couldn't quite tell from looking at yours Mate. Got it from a trusted supplier on here, but I think he got it from someone else who may not have been quite as knowledgeable or diligent :?

thanks Paul, I'll nip to the dealers and see if they can a) get it, and b) not charge me the earth

Whilst you're looking at part numbers, I got these off a label on the casing :

8C1R 7003 BA
TTFA1 230208 172340

I've looked on the web site that you gave me Loot, but can find 7003 172 numbers but not 172340, so, is it actually the correct gearbox :?:

I don't think eucat is upto date so don't know if yours is a revision or whatever.

It'll fit tho mk7 mt82 rwd etc, mines off a 2.2 Lol

If you give Ford a call with the part number you have and a description I'm sure they'll have 1:-)
Might be 50 quid or whatever tho

Thanks Mate, certainly looks just like yours, just thought it would be a bit of a bu99er if I put it all in and it was only 5 speed

Found a similar part on ebay which was £119  Mind you, that was for the whole thing with the other bits and bobs attached, so we'll see

I broke a similar (but smaller) casting on my focus that retains the bottom (torque control) mount on my focus last week. 22.40 inc vat at Ford... so it might not be too bad?

That's good news Matt, here's hoping :?

That's it Paul, thanks, mine looks exactly like that apart from broken casting, minus the shopping trolley

does have a bit of loom attached with a strange silver foil tube (heat resistant maybe :?: ) and a couple of connectors.

Going to dealers tomorrow to see what they say :?

There's a cast stamp on the side says 2.2/2.4 :o

Did you manage to get a cable bracket? They must have just dropped the box with them connected

Can't find the cast stamp Mate

Just off to dealers now (via massive trip to tip to dump my old flat roof rubbish). Will be sitting down when he tells me the price

Well they torched the prop, gotta be worth a ton, so I'm not quite sure what they did, but I reckon your first guess "beat it off with a hammer" was probably near the mark

So is it good having the rear windows then Mate :?: There's a couple of tailgates on the bay, even same colour as mine, but they want about £200 for them and it's collect, so about a 600 mile round trip

Plus they're Mk6, so I'd have to swap the wiring over to t'other side :?

Plus not sure if I'd have wiring present for rear heat and wash/wipe. Is the switch different :?:

Re: loots mk7

For my needs it is awesome and well worth all the messing about i had to do with software mod.
Initially i fitted a timer relay for the wipers so they came on and stopped, reason was that there are 2 and the pause allowed them to both come home then start off in sequence, before that i powered them and they both went up and down and eventually went out of sunc and looked buckshee

So i modified the software to include trans linked wash wipe which is way cool. Eg, if you don't have rear wipers on but do have the front ones on and then you go into reverse, the rear ones come on to clear the back windows 8)

Anyhoo.

The rear windows wiring was all there for me iirc but finished at the big white connectors at the front A pillar right and left :-)
The heated part just connects to the heated mirror relay and also to A pillar ground. So if you have heated mirrors then an easy addition.

The wiper needs a focus wiper switch, double washer pump motor and wiring to relay r24.
If you need any help with that let me know :-) check if you have terminals for r24 or if you have it already.

I use my van like a car so i cut the bulkhead in half so the lower half is there which is cool because it keeps crap from sliding about while leaving me with storage space under my seats, i can see/climb into the back too, i look out of the back windows and fitted a rear view mirror so the window wipers and heated glass is a must in that situation.

So it depends on what you want really.

Obviously tint the back windows because it stops ppl looking in and also makes you feel a bit more private. 8)

Thanks Mate, that all sounds pretty good, I just need to check up on what wiring I have.

Not sure if I have heated mirrors, they're electric, so I thought that they would be and just worked off the heated windscreen, but that sounds wrong now :?

Your wiper setup sounds really cool 8) , so would defo like to do that if I do go with it :)

Not sure about the switch though, the Focus rear wash/wipe ones on the Bay look exactly like mine :?

only thing that puts me off is I'm still not sure if it's worth the 2 hundred smackers plus a massive round trip to collect :?
Nah sack that mate just hang on til you see 1, sods law you'll do all that to get 1 and the next day there's 1 down the road for 100 quid Lol.

The cmax switch is the same but it pulls back for rear wipers 8)
You'll have the switch wiring already and the heated mirrors wiring so just need a switch for it.
Only the relay to A pillar connector needs wiring up and software.

Bear in mind that you have to confirm what wiring you actually have since this is Ford we are talking about
