brillant job, top work on it aswell!!!!

just a few things, don't you find that the back end bottoms out when going over weigh bridhe "if raised" steep drives etc?

i'll dig pics of mine out and show you, mine grounds out and is ok, but they never treated underneath so it's starting to rust, got no real mud guards either so it's abit crap underneat, does the job though.

What winch have you got?

and the blue looks mint!!!!!

hi my mk 5 bottoms out like you say but i new when i built it it would but i thought ill be putting more cars on the back than ill be going on rough ground so i opted for the angle for easy loading wheigh bridge i dont go on as i sell my cars per car rather than per ton me and yard both know what there weigh and are worth so try to keep of them but as for the angle good excuse not to be riveing clutch out going up steep hills etc. ill post some pics of winch later it was of ebay a 12000 lb wireless remote 6.6 hp motor £280 it cost but will do my job easy also dig pics out of your truck  :) :) :)

hi firestorm this is the winch im using

Image

Image

as you can see i cut hole out to feed wires from the winch as im moving box underneath out the way so it doesnt get dammaged

i cut light cable off behind cab and put a junction box there just under were winch sits i thought it would be easy to feed up to the lights on the headboard
so i fed new cable all the way to the back and fitted another junction box were both lights will feed into it and trailer socket .

ive started to wire back lights up as you can see ive fed it through the box section up to the light

Image

ive also finnish towbar ive fitted an adjustable bracket as i need to remove ball to close door

Image

just needs painting as took off my other truck to save few quid as neck end off £90 saved :)

these are things i should be doing after paint but waiting of headboard so just brought these jobs forward :) save time later

You need some of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Mod ... TS&doy=2m7 well maybe not that particular one but they do all kinds of sizes. Afterall that cable feeding the lights is going to get cut over time through vibration.

Other than that well smart, looks so much better with paint.

Yes, don't want chaffing. For larger holes you can get a strip that slides onto the edge and goes around the hole and you cut to length. One thing we use on site when we cannot use any rubber is to use insulation tape over the edge, many many times. just to soften the edge. A hole will cut a cable even if the edges aren't sharp.
Current Transit: Mk8 tourneo Sport with go faster stripes.

Long time sold: Mk5 LWB 190, 2.5di banana SHR, 3 seats, SLD, Twin rear doors (rusted bottoms), manual locking & windows.

The plugs will be well handy on the front.I always carry a battery pack too in case you get into real trouble...Bought the red Ghia X model from Machine Mart which started my old Iveco easily on -0 mornings.Heavy + large tho.
Dragged a Montery on the back yesterday without drama loading a customers trailer that had no winch.Well pleased for the money..Extra £300 gets you a Warn sticker...
Looking forward to seeing your flier fitted..
