Who ......... me? ....*whistles and looks at ceiling*

Well today has been fairly pants. Infra red heater - both tubes blown. Halogens heater - makes tinkly/grating noise when moved. Halogen work lamps (500 W each) one tube blew as soon as it was turned on :(

.......... so the work has been slow to set, plus I have had any amount of difficulty getting any sort of decent level on some areas.

Still.... these things are sent to try us :(

Nadas dancing Chicken...

Nipped over at the weekend whilst I did a job on another transit

The drivers side is looking rather good, its 95% ready for primer. Hopefully the drivers side will be in primer this week, and the other lower 1/4 cut out and removed ready for the work to start on that side. In some ways the passenger side will be easier (less of it, better access for welds etc) but its also had a lot more past impact damage and repairs... so it may well take longer.

Unfortunately the rear doors and side loading door arn't worth repairing and it looks likes we won't have better ones supplied to us before Nada goes away - so we may well be putting the old manky doors back on the shiney van :(

Another update...

When I arrive on Friday Kalkat had been busy

The drivers side side panels had been fully welded, all the prep done and it had been put in to primer and a 2nd primer coat applied (~20mins before I arrived)

Image

Image

Oh and it looks really good :)

So we started attacking the other side...

It looked like this inside so we wern't entirely sure what we would find...

Image

and we started cutting, removed the side, and then did it again!

Image

Image

Yup, panel over panel.

When it had been "repaired" in the past the rear SLD pillar had been knocked back and bodged up completely - fortunately other than being the wrong shape it was intact

Image

With a lump hammer (mainly) we knocked it back in to shape (after removing the spot welds)! and its pretty close.

Once removed a few sill repairs were required and the bottom of the rear pillar had had it too (again a previous botched repair which had been accident damaged

Image

Image

Image

Other than that... broken windscreen out and the new panel trial fitted (its probably mainly welded in now - Kalkat spent a few more hours on it after I left last night)

Image

Image

We did find a lot of distortion in the upper panel from accident damage... The SLD rail was an S shape, so I went to the scrappies and procured another (the right shape) and we have managed to get the worst of it out :) Once Kalkat has done her magic it should be gone :)

Oh and I finished welding up the floor!
