thats it youve got it so it aint gonna go anywhere just take your time do what you can when you can ,itll all come together
if its got tits or wheels its always gonna end in trouble !!!
anyone can restore a van but it takes a real man to chop it up !!!

(what have i bought now   ) well im the proud owner of an even earlier front panal than my current one - why you may ask well my current ine is a bit dented and not very stright and someone has cut some of the grill out of the area where the FORD letters sit
so i saw this come up for sale and i had to have it - i beleave this to be the very early type grill used on early vans from 1965 to about1967-8?...when did they change from mesh grill to built in metal grill?
it will need a blast but its very stright and theres not much rust (no welding needs to be done)
and strangly enough its the same colour as my van  :?:

Image
tatty but suprisingly stright

im prety sure they are transit as they came from a guy breaking a mk2 but if not atleast they are black vinal so they will fit in with the intrior look,
as for fitting smiley seats i want to keep things looking as original as possible
(the seats maby not as confortable as later ones but they fit in with the whole look im going for) :)

Louis you can get mk3 seats in optional vynal - keep an eye out for som they would fit strait into mk1 floor and would fit with the classic look - a good compromise :D

i got some more work doe today, took the rear bumper/tow bar off because it was infront of where the rear numberplate should go and that was one of the things on the failure sheet (no where for rear number plate to go) also fitted a new rear number plate lamp. the rear valance it a bit bashed about a bit but i might repair it or get a new one

ALSO!! i drove the van for the first time today from the yard into the workshop!
supprisingly its not the most difficult thing to drive but its not the most easy thing to drive either especially in reverse
unfortunatly the van jumps out of reverse gear, i was deffinatly in gear because the van reversed backwards for a whilst then crunch it pops out  any ideas why :?:

Image
in the workshop - as reversed in by me!!

Image
bumper now off - new rear valance possibly needed
also took little orange side lights off as they didnt work (only tempory to get it throught mot when the time comes)
