Sligobob; all the stuff was custom fabricated so I don't have any spares thrown around

SligoBob wrote:Alright buddy, do you have many spare bits knocking about? I'm looking to turbo my banana engine, so I'm looking for turbo, manifolds, pipework, sump, oil feed pipe, and exhaust front pipe...

Also looking for a lower ratio diff/axle or CW/P for my 6-stud single wheel axle.

Hi mate haw its going your 200hp project???
Like for me that imposible on this engine.

I have tuned 1.9TDI what in stoke was 142hp 340nm. I have change pump duses for race one, turbo charger for big from 3.0tdi, front intercooler from subaru impreza, fuly free flow exchaust 3", high flow head, bogger valves and race cam shaft. After that all modyfications and remap i have litle bit over 250 hp.

How you want to go over 150 on VP diesel ??????????? Is imposible with this pump and injectors iven if will burn 7MPG.

But about 120 shuld't be a problem.

The marine engines can get 160bhp from the K26 turbo and VE pump so hopefully I'll get more with pump modifications

Hey robbie
Yes still at it. Progress is very slow due to work
I'm going to be fitting the turbo and modified pump in the next few weeks

Will be interesting to see one complete :D

200hp should be possible with the governor mods and big turbo :)

I forgot to ask, what exhaust manifold did you use?

and where did you get those 130ps injectors from? 8)

The manifold is the standard n/a one and I welded on a T3 flange for the turbo.
The 130s came from diesel parts direct

Does anyone have a good idea on how to lower the compression a bit without going for the turbo head or pistons?

Thanks for the manifold and injector info :)

I might do a similar approach

as for lowering the compression, I thought Ford lowered the compression by using different pistons?
so the heads are the same (apart from the valves)

why do you want to lower the compression though?

19:1 should be fine....

but if you really want to, a spacer plate to lift the cylinder head a little might be the easiest option......
slightly longer pushrods would be needed though....

As far as I know they machined a dish between the valves, where the injector pokes through.
I don't want to stress the head gasket too much. The few points in compression equates to a lot of degrees ºC and EGTs and stuff.
I know the compression was lowered in the turbo di engines to reduce emissions and that

Whaf exhaust will you be running?

Because a larger bore exhaust with no restrictions (so either no silencer or straight through) will lower the EGT's.....

And your big intercooler will keep the charge temp down which in turn will keep the egts down.....

Most of all though keep the smoke down a bit :P
I know a big plume from a turbo diesel looks good....but it will increase EGTs!

You could however.....fit a water injection system.....

3" side exit pipe. I might twin turbo it down the line
I'll be running enough boost to burn any amount of diesel

Aren't NA dis 20.8:1 comp ratio?? wouldnt that extra bit make it more powerful, or just harder to squeeze the air in cylinder!! :?:
